Last week Kenny Omega was interviewed by ESPN and was asked about his upcoming match with Okada which is a rematch a number of people have been waiting for.
All though fans like myself are looking forward to it, Omega says it might be early for it.
From Omega:
Here is the full interview which is worth reading if anyone is interested.
While some fans here in the US feel Okada hasn't been a worthy successor of Tanahashi I feel between his match with Omega earlier this year and the recent one with Shibata who I'll touch on later when I gather my thoughts, I have to disagree. I don't think fans knew the bs he had to endure to get to where he's at, all you gotta do is look at his time in TNA to see what I mean.
Okada's rise in New Japan is a great story. Sure he maybe on top now but there was a time those in Japan felt otherwise which is in relation to what I just mentioned.
I'm drifting on topic.... okay so Omega and Okada II are bound to tear the house down but I think Omega feels it might not be as special as the first time or even there hasn't been any good build up but who knows?
Is it Omega's time to finally become IWGP champion?
Guess we'll see but Omega spent a good part or even the majority if his career in Japan all though he's won titles, winning the IWGP championship would be his biggest accomplishment I believe. Just wonder if he does win if he'll have a good run with it?

From Omega:
If I'm going to give you a personal opinion, I would say that, I personally think it's too soon to revisit that match. I would have liked to just let that performance be, come back to it at a later date. But there comes a time in business when it's just important to move numbers, put asses in seats, as the saying goes, and you have to come out guns blazing. "I knew eventually there would be a second match, regardless of how good or bad it was. I think there's going to be a third, [and] I still think there's going to be an Omega-Okada four. [But] I've been called to duty sooner than I would have liked to have been, and I'm put into a situation where that match is still very fresh in everyone's minds.
