I am pretty sure some people watch New Japan on here, maybe not on a regular basis unless you are signed up to their monthly service but even still I'm a fan of all types of wrestling, whether it's from the Indies or a couple of the bigger companies. Although I don't watch the biggest one here the US, I still keep track of w hat goes on but I use to want to be into alot of different promotions, now it's just less than a handful that I actually can tolerate with New Japan being the top of the list.
Kenny Omega is one of their biggest stars and was for a time what helped the current Bullet Club gain it's worldwide fandom. Now you can make an argument that Prince Devitt and AJ Styles did this who were both past leaders but while Prince Devitt aka Finn Balor did create the group with a few others, when AJ won the IWGP Championship and took it to america and defended the title, it was gaining steam but something still was missing, now sure people like Corny hate the Bucks and Omega for whatever reason which is fine and all but I feel that guys like Omega did want to help New Japan become a worldwide company and not just keep it in the realm of Japan in which they ran their first actual US show last year and with their ties with ROH it does helps the company as a whole. On a side note, it seems that some companies are pairing themselves up with others almost like preparing for a big war or something but I'll get into that later on...okay this years New Japan show dubbed STRONG STYLE EVOLVED was sold out within 20 min. Of course not all can credit can be given to him, all you gotta do is look at roster and quality of matches but these are just my opinions.
In recent years Wrestle Kingdom or the January 4 Tokyo Dome Show which went through a variety of different names before it settled on that one has become better each year. It was the 2016 G1 Climax which is New Japans biggest tournament of the year and last years Wrestle Kingdom 60 minute match with Okada along with Bullet Clubs initial feud with CHAOS in addition to the other 60 minute match during 2017 is was what I felt helped elevate Omega into gaining the popularity he has achieved whether it's good or bad, depending on your perception of him.
Been watching Omega since his DDT days when he was a tag team with Kota Ibushi which some may remember from the Cruiserweight Classic, although they had a strange name in the Golden Lovers I didn't care, they were always entertaining and while they teamed alot, they still wrestled in singles matches with Ibushi winning more New Japan gold until Omega arrived and aligned himself with the Bullet Club while branching off into The Elite.
This all changed recently though and while the dream match between Omega and Jericho was a success at the recent Wrestle Kingdom show, there had been tensions mounting with the BC for sometime, most notably between Cody and Omega...I won't get into the short history but those that have been watching knows what I am talking about or just do a quick search if you're interested or not. This all led to the video below which saw the reuniting of one of the best tag teams from any promotion.
Ibushi is also one of the reasons Omega didn't sign with WWE and here's a small portion from the most recent statement after the reunion.

because I was waiting for him. If we aren’t together, there’s no point. I want us to change the world together. I took the belts with Bullet Club, did a lot, but that was all the job. Golden Lovers transcends wrestling. This is real life. As long as there was a chance for this to happen, I wasn’t going to say goodbye to NJPW.
I don’t know if he wants what I want. But if he does, we can do something amazing together.
