Austin Aries who some might know as the current Impact World Champion showed up at last nights 16th anniversary.
What does it mean though? Could this be teasing another working relationship with Impact or something else?
A great time to be a wrestling fan I tell ya.
That's all for now.

I think Impact missed a great cross-promotional opportunity with King/Aries. After Ries showed up on ROH TV, they should’ve booked King to come in and ambush Aries on Impact TV, with the Impact broadcast team fully explaining that King was the ROH TV champion.
Shouldn’t surprise me. I read that Corgan offered a booking idea that would have placed Aldis with the NWA belt prominently on the Impact show and the Impact officials couldnt come to an agreement with the plan. I’m assuming for fear that the program would de-emphasize the Impact title itself - something that clearly did not happen when ROH agreed to what was probably the same offer.

I hate that Ring Warriors stopped broadcasting in the Atlanta market. Not so much that it was a high quality show (it wasn’t) but more from the loss of additional wrestling programming and the loss of an outlet for wrestlers to get airtime for their profession. That, and once I found out “Number One” Paul Jones had history behind the scenes originally with the promotion, I was going to watch it no matter. GREAT memories of Paul Jones wrestling in GCW looong before he retired as an in-ring performer to manage on WCW.
Ring Warriors kind of reminded me of the old “outlaw” promotions that popped up on UHF channels back in the early ‘70s. They had some known stars that rotated in the main events but the shows were heavily lower card “filler” talent. I want to say an example was IWA....but I might have the name wrong. I remember Mil Mascaras was their champion and Mighty Igor was one of their “name” stars...Ivan Koloff may have been with the promotion as well though I seem to remember Ernie Ladd was the main heel.

The show did have a lot of great talent on there and it was really starting to pick up steam as well

The shows I watched seemed to have a nice blend of Impact, ROH, and CWFH talent...as well as some drop-in local and former NWA affiliate wrestlers...sometimes used in positions opposed to how you normally see them (Eli Drake as a “face” for example). In that regard, it reminded me of how talent would switch from heel to face or face to heel when moving between territories

there was some good tag teams being built up as well. I was enjoying watching them pick up pace. I hope that there will be more shows broadcast in some capacity soon

It is too bad Impact can't just can't accept the fact they are now a steppingstone promotion and the Impact title has little impact in the industry. If they brought the NWA into play that could provide a nice boost to viewership because the wrestling news sites would plaster, "For the first time in over 10 years the NWA 10 Pounds of Gold will return to Impact TV as Johnny Impact sets to face off against Nick Aldis! They also had great opportunity to test the waters and have Willie Mack show off the National Championship. They could have had more opportunity if they would have staged a tournament on TV where the winners would be sent to the Crockett Cup. The NWA could be a valuable tool to help bring some fresh eyes to the product. Their concern should be viewership and making money, not the value of their championship.

Completely agree...and after all the lawsuits were settled, and everyone went about their business, Corgan was good enough to approach them with that overall idea (if not the specifics you reference). It’s disappointing that Impact officials couldn’t see the value in the opportunity as you described it.
