In lieu of allowing every post turning into the take a shot at Bruce or NWA thread, let's just have a catch all.
Let's try to keep it professional. But say whatever you feel.

Bruce? I don't believe I know any Bruces. Oh unless you mean Bruce Mumaw. that dirty rotten SOB was talking in Mrs. Fraziers 8th grade english class and when she asked him to be quiet that ass blamed it on me! The NERVE of that guy right?!?!? Oh or maybe Brucey from the Longest Yard remake with Adam Sandler. Alot of people don't like that movie but I think its actually pretty funny. Especially Brucey! "How come you get to be quarterback? I should be quarterback!" "Huck Hup Hike" and who could forget THE classic line "Uh it slipped, I shouldn'ta had that popcorn before practice". Brucey. Go Kansas State Mental Institution!!! Beat up on dem gaurds, kill dem! Oh and who could forget the most famous Bruce of all? The fake/robotic shark from JAWS!!!! Quite possibly my favorite movie of all time! I guess it's somewhat hokey compared to the special effects used today but because of BRUCES shortcomings Spielberg was forced to build suspense without revealing the actual shark until mid movie and even then only in glimpses. Such a classic movie, such THE classic BRUCE. And of course NEVER go swimmin with bow legged women!!! Earl Bruce? O H I O!!! Lennie Bruce? Bruce from the Rainbow Express from a very early TNA? Bruce Fitzhugh from Living Sacrifice? The Boss Bruce Springsteen??? The late great Bruce Lee??? Bruce Willis? "The ColorBlind Ref" Bruce Grey? I guess there's plenty of Bruce's and plenty to love or hate or contemplate. Now Richard. There's a Richard in particular who just so happens to have quite a bit to do with the NWA. Richard is in fact such a DICK that he decided not to go by Ricky. Not Ritchie. Not Rick. Not the aforementioned DICK. Not Ricardo. Not slick Ric. No he decided Richard was too much to say and the best nickname or shortening for this thunderturd was...........R. He shortened Richard to R. Come to think of it....yeah....just as I suspected....shortens Richard to the letter R and then tries to jump on the BRUCE train to success!!!!! And as if it just doesn't sound so....so....so presidential, R. Bruce Tharpe!!!! Yeah he could probably use his own thread for criticism. But as bruce as my witness I really think guys, seriously guys, I really think once they release the footage of him and Beard sitting poolside with Brownsville's hottest babes reviewing and pitching too matches from 1977 featuring Pepper Gomez against Butch Reed that we'll ALL, myself included, be eating our words. Its going to fasttrack him to bruce stardom and he'll boldly go where no BRUCE has gone before him. In fact, if I may be so bold I for one believe that Bob Trobich will send him an edible arrangements and a thank you note for suing Bob and PWO LLC and for so obviously restoring glory to the NWA!!! And and for rocking such a heel look in this really killer sequins!!! That is unless you meant a different Bruce;-)

The Caitlyn move worked out well for Jenner. Just saying.

You want EVERYTHING here? EVERYTHING? You'd better purchase a bunch of new memory. It's a book I could easily start writing and probably never run out of material...therefore I'd never finish.

It's only fitting that I kick things off I don't like him because he acts like a fan. Was just in the NWA World Women's Champion thread and T.B speculated that Amber Gallows may have only got the belt because Tharpe is looking to buddy up to Luke Gallows. What?! How asinine and crazy is the man for ruining the good thing Santana had going on and replacing her with Amber simply because he wants to be buddies with Luke. Why is he so desperate to be Luke Gallows' buddy anyway? Same goes for the other NWA Champions. Jax Dane is a solid hand but he's been champion for about 6 months now and hasn't offered much of anything. Nobody has posted a "must see" NWA World Heavyweight Title defense featuring the guy and he's rarely brought up here. Other message boards and sites don't care about him which is why he might be better suited to the National Title or North American Title. I hope Bruce finally does the right thing and gives Charlie Haas the belt at Parade Of Champions.

Has anyone seen a promo putting him over as the Worlds champion? Yes he is tall and imposing but he screams Midcard. Now Charlie Haas as world champion are you seriously kidding? He is a tag team wrestler at best and hasn't been relevant in years himself. In that video where he pins Jax Dane he is wearing a t-shirt, what physical state is he in? Apart from the ROH stint the last thing rememorable thing he did was was the Damien Sandow gimmick (anyone remember Haas Hogan?)

If Haas is in good shape he'd be a great choice. He's based in Texas where the NWA is located and he's a big enough name to get booked by the other promotions.
I think he's semi-retired now though.

I don't hate Bruce. I personally don't know the man...
Thing is, as a consumer I have X amount of disposable income to toss around and Bruce wants to make money. At the same time, he has to give me a reason to spend/invest my money/time in his product. At the moment he's really not giving me a reason to. His champion is practically irrelevant and the recent title exchange that was put on the Classics was a Rob Conway match. The preview on the Classics page is the same preview that was up when the damn thing was launched.
The other thing that got old is how during any title match that features an opponent from NJPW Bruce has to be in the corner of the NWA wrestler. That happened when Jax won the strap. Which didn't make sense from a kayfabe standpoint (yea I know it really doesn't exist today) when considering Jax speared Bruce a few months earlier.
When looking for a potential champion, I'd like to see it put on someone that's going to be the "face" for the next ten to fifteen years and rebuild the brand around him. Granted the probability of someone like a Chase Owens sticking around for that amount of time is slim to none, but it's really worth it.

Our guys in NJPW were over shadowed by the person in their corner. The angle became about him instead of them. He loved it too. On more than one occasion he told me that if not for him and his gimmick our relationship with NJPW would be over. Well....if he was right....it's old and stale now....and they have either moved on or put it on hold. Maybe if it had been about the wrestlers more of them would still be being booked there now. They got pigeon holed and their fate lives and dies with the heel president character. As far as being in anyone's corner in the USA, one of the things I did get him to commit to was NOT getting involved as a character here. We agreed that he should be an impartial figure who might show off the belt prior to the match....or maybe even present the belt to a new champion. But, the character was off limits. His ego wouldn't stand for that though. As soon as I was gone he was in full gimmick, on promotion flyers, etc.

And even then he'll be back when his run is over. I pretty much gave him his first break into the business and I consider him family. He'll be in the NWA as long as I am and I have no plans to leave the brand.

I think Animus is suggesting that Chase Owens will be signed and I think that is likely. The NJPW exposure is great for him and will let him be seen by WWE, TNA, ROH etc etc. I hope he gets signed for the NWA's sake.
As for Bruce. I remember the supershow featuring Chris Masters Vs Rob Conway NWA World Heavyweight Title match and reading a recap in which Bruce appeared on the show 6 times. Getting in verbal altercations with Lance Hoyt (Which went nowhere), taking the glory away from Conway who had just had retained the title and generally was all over the show.
Then the TV show came out and he appeared a further 3-4 times in the hour telecast. I've said it before but it would have made more sense to have Tony do the talking on the program (Which he did but not as much as Tharpe if I'm remembering correctly) since Tony actually hosted the event and was running a territory in the same area just like Boesch had been doing.

Yes, I'm completely suggesting that Chase Owens will be signed by somebody. I tend to think he'll be signed to ROH within two years and the WWE within 5 years. I wished there was a way that the NWA could find the means to sign Chase to a long term deal and build the brand around him. He could be the NWA's version of what AJ Styles was for TNA.

That is how I see Chase as well. The AJ Styles of the NWA.
I see Chase going to TNA actually and then probably ROH. Chase is a guy that TNA really needs right now since their X-Division sucks

Chase Owens is a guy we will be using in the UK soon.
He has come on leaps and bounds and looking forward to bringing him over.
