A loss for the business.
A loss for humanity.
Rest in Peace, Les.

I remember getting tape and seeing him work a bunch of times with Nelson Royal in the 80's, what made the Jr. Heavyweight division disappear? They worked imo a better and more exciting style.

Les was the first World Junior Heavyweight Champion I knew of and I loved that fact that they presented him as a "World" Champion, Les was a classic shooter/stretcher and I will miss him
The title ended up in New Japan and US promoters actually brought Les back as champion in the US, but he went to WWE at the end of his career.

I remember getting tape and seeing him work a bunch of times with Nelson Royal in the 80's, what made the Jr. Heavyweight division disappear? They worked imo a better and more exciting style. A focus on heavier weights in America in the mid 1980s along with the expansion era with the "WWF style" bodybuilder type of wrestler, really pushed away the Junior Heavyweight/Cruiserweight and Light Heavyweight divisions to a point of non existence. It always remained in Japan and Mexico (and to an extent Europe) and when the mid 90 to later 90's came around, bringing in lighter weight wrestlers became an attraction again. ECW helped show that to audiences.
That's my belief...
