Oh dear, this goes back to the dark days of when the Freebirds lost the NWA Tag team titles six days before they won them.
If everyone knows the Rock n Rollers have won the NWA Tag titles - assuming they haven't since lost them - this is ridiculous.

Oh dear, this goes back to the dark days of when the Freebirds lost the NWA Tag team titles six days before they won them. If everyone knows the Rock n Rollers have won the NWA Tag titles - assuming they haven't since lost them - this is ridiculous. A keen and valid observation. While The Pumpkin Smasher, et al. are making a hard attempt at old school resurrection (which I applaud), it is a steep hill given the plethora of "smarks" online. In the vintage NWA era, Kayfabe was the universal religion. The last remnants of Kayfabe were sent to hell in 2005 by Linda McMahon when the term "Sports Entertainment" was born during a PPV at New Jersey's Meadowlands Arena. This happened because the McMahons balked at the 5%/person tax levied by the New Jersey Athletic Control Board. Once it was acknowledged that McMahon's product was not, in fact, "athletics," the Board had no further jurisdiction. And that was a dark day for this business. Linda was on-camera with The Headbangers. Chaz, Glen and I have discussed this moment when we were together at Ring Warriors tapings in Florida and Las Vegas. And while the two of them were employees following orders, I believe they join me in regretting having been forced to be on stage that day. "Spoilers" published online irk me. And while they are, most times, labeled properly - - the mere fact that they are out there gives license to all the Armchair Admirals of the pro wrestling community to opine, condemn and brag about how they can do better than the person who has the money at risk. I have been a vociferous critic of what Corgan has not done with the brand he acquired. Rightfully and accurately, I believe, I have compared his incarnation to (you're gonna have to look this oldie up) what was done when the original Braniff Airlines - - famous for it's scany stewardess uniforms and colorful aircraft - - went out of business for a bit and was then brought back with the bald, traditional airline look and flavor. That aside, I am hoping that The Pumpkin Smasher will turn Lagana loose. I read who some of the "producers" are. They are capable people. Their biggest challenges are two-fold: 1. Finding workers who understand and can work "old school." I think Tim Storm "gets it." And there are others, too. 2. Classically conditioning the market. Unringing bells is thought to be impossible. Taking audiences used to seeing shows that are more orgy-like, multimedia tripe and getting them to purchase seats/PPV will be a Herculean undertaking. I don;t think just a few taped episodes and a thunder-clap PPV can do it. It will take a long-term, well-funded campaign. Has Corgan made such a commitment? I don't have that answer. Amalgamations rarely work - - egos come into play. Other than a few inter-federation, non-finish exchange matchs, they are few and far between. For AEW (in its' infancy) to join hands with NWA is premature. Same albeit with Impact, ROH, etc. And so it goes...

found some Fan Cam footage. Not great, but just so you have an idea what was going on at Modist.
