We need promos. I really don't understand why that is so hard to get. Exactly, one of my issues with the current Nwa and indies/wrestlers. We live in the YouTube era.

Three of the best guys I've interacted with at VIP fan greetings are Ray Rowe, Lance Hoyt, and Jax Dane.
Hoyt is the very definition of a professional and Rowe and Dane truly seemed to appreciate the fans.

Being someone who actually posts promo videos, let me ask this question: How many of you actually watch promo videos?

I don't. Most of them are shit quality and are recorded on a smartphone or what have you. Also, most promo guys in the indies aren't great.
If it's someone I KNOW is a good talker though, I'm listening.

Yes, I do.
However, I am "turned off" when the promo is pathetic. I'm not speaking about overall, technical aspects. My focus is on showmanship and customer appeal.
I have conducted many pre-show locker room meeting. My counsel to the workers always includes this closing:
"Ladies and gentlemen, this is not the Olympics. This is the theater."
And when workers ask me, post match, how their match looked, I routinely reply:
"I am not interested how it looked. I am interested in how things sounded." Meaning that even the most stellar technical display of moves runs a distant second to a crowd that is loud in its' reaction - - for that is what builds the repeat business necessary for a promotion to prosper and survive and afford better paydays.
The video must be put together so that no more than the first two minutes affords the viewer a sampling of all those skills.

I dunno... I prefer the old-school backstage interview like Macho Man being interviewed by Mean Gene or the old studio wrestling w/ Gordon Solie always being ringside to interview wrestlers before/after a match. The promos like the Wyatt Family are cool sometimes, but they seem to have too much of a formula and gets repetitive. I'm not too familiar with Indy Wrestling promos/videos. But the backstage stuff from Smoky Mountain seem aight. But I don't search YouTube to find their promos.

"I am not interested how it looked. I am interested in how things sounded." This may be the best line ever when it come to wrestling.
