One of the intriguing fact I know about Tim Storm is his claim that he once challenged Dan Severn for NWA World Title in the past.
At first I doubt his claim a bit because there's no record available for the match. Until the second episode of Ten Pounds of Gold that confirm that he INDEED once fighting Dan Severn in the past.
The question is: When?
Tim Storm's history record in wrestling is unclear. Cagematch site claim Tim make his debut in 2000, until Ten Pounds of Gold episode 2 confirm he already wrestle 2 years prior. There's no record about him wrestled for WLW in Cagematch site either. Even Hisa's site have no record about Dan Severn defending the NWA Title against Tim Storm, nor the record about Dan Severn defending NWA World Title in Missouri, the home of WLW.
Nevertheless, with the confirmation that Tim Storm and David Marquez are once working together in the past, and with the claim he also challenged Dan Severn, so we can conclude that Tim Storm - Dan Severn match happened in WLW sometimes in 1998 to 1999, since WLW was founded that year, and 1999 is the last year of Dan Severn's first NWA Title reign until he lost to Naoya Ogawa on May 1999. Of course with the footage of Tim Storm against Butch Reed available, that's also confirm Tim's appearance in WLW, and also prove that he already wrestled before 2000, the year he believed to debuted.
But the question is: When was the exact date the match happened? There's no information about the exact date of when Tim Storm - Dan Severn match happened. Only photos and flyers. Even the flyers is strange. The text clearly said Dan Severn vs Big Tim Storm for the NWA World Title. But why the picture available in the flyers is Dan Severn and random dude named Jeff Jett? Who the hell is Jeff Jett?
I hope this mystery of Tim Storm - Dan Severn match will cleared so we can added this match in "the history book"! Of course when the date of this NWA World Championship match are confirmed, it can be added in Hisa's site.
And surprised David Marquez still have footage from the old WLW days. Wonder if the footage of Tim Storm - Dan Severn match still available. If that's still available, it will be interesting to put it on the next episode of Ten Pounds of Gold!
