I just cannot get into that belt.
One of my all time favorite belts was the WCW US Title, cannot stand the WWE version of it

My favorite was the last NWA US belt.
I don't mind the retro look but either call it the US title (which rumor is what Corbin wanted) or do a retro National belt.

It is a direct nod to the old MACW area U.S. belt that Ric Flair, Steamboat, Valentine, and Slaughter traded around back in the day I’m sure there is an attempt to make a distinction between WWE carrying the US belt since the WCW buyout and even NXT’s North American belt but I agree that I’d have been happy with them calling it the US champion.

The rumor is Corgan wanted to call it the US title but was talked out of because NJPW had just recently created one.

It never occurred to me about NJPW’s new US title when I was contemplating why they chose the “National” title name for a belt that clearly harkens back to the early US belt. Makes total sense.
With ROH’s close ties to NJPW, and the NWA building the same with ROH, it makes a lot more sense that Corgan/Lagana wouldn’t want either confusion for fans or hurt feelings or at least an uncomfortable situation for their partners...especially if you’re hoping that partner will air title defenses of the belt for you.

Now you people know on which title I like, I don't even have to say it.
