Messers. Corgan and Lagana take note. Will you make an effort to integrate NWA title matches? (culled from Bob Magee's pwbts.com)
All Elite Wrestling was officially announced at the stroke
of Midnight on January 1, 2019, the new promotion headed up
by Tony Khan, the son of Jacksonville Jaguars and Fulham
F.C. owner and billionaire Shahid Khan.
There was also a second announcement which is Double or
Nothing, the second major show following the highly
successful All In this past September. A rally at the TIAA
Bank Field in Jacksonville, Florida, was announced for
Tuesday, January 8 at 5PM EST where the event will be used
to provide more information about the promotion and the
show.
All members of The Elite will be in attendance as well as
special guests and a few special announcements. Christopher
Daniels, Frankie Kazarian, and Scorpio Sky will be there as
well and look like they will be joining AEW moving forward.
The promotion has been rumored for a few months and several
trademarks were filed with the USPTO leading up to today’s
announcement.

I’d love to see this new venture succeed and even more love for the NWA to be directly involved!

More . . . (also from Bob Magee's pwbts.com)
Cody Rhodes has confirmed that he will be the Executive Vice
President of All Elite Wrestling, the new promotion financed
by Tony Khan, the son of Jacksonville Jaguars and Fulham
F.C. owner and billionaire Shahid Khan.
Cody, whose vision led to the All In indie pay-per-view back
in September 2018, will be involved in the running of the
promotion, taking key decisions with the rest of management.
“I feel so damn lucky. I believe that more than talent…more
than chance…work ethic will guide me where I’d like to go,”
Cody wrote on Twitter. “To be Executive Vice President for
our new venture, and to be flanked by Matt and Nick and a
few familiar names sharing that position; this is my dream
job. I can’t think of a time when so many of wrestling’s top
free agents all opted out of the road usually traveled and
instead wanted to start something new. I am excited to see
AEW into existence.”
He also added, “What’s old isn’t new – what’s new is new.
Perception isn’t reality – reality is reality. Fans first.”
A rally at the TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville, Florida, was
announced for Tuesday, January 8 at 5PM EST where the event
will be used to provide more information about the promotion
and the Double or Nothing show, the sequel to All In.

The best thing about ALL IN was the build around the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship.
Good luck to AEW
another option alongside many others striving for market share.

While I'm excited as much as the next fan, I'm cautious, I dont know if these guys can pull it off. I'm not a big believer in Cody Rhodes as a talent, or Brandi, but that's another issue entirely, regardless at this moment in time they don't have a star. The Bucks are cool but they are at the end of their ring careers, Omega... is he coming for sure? The other thing I say about Omega is the greatest thing to benefit him is that Styles, Devitt, Nakamura, all went to WWE. Before that he was a lower mid card guy, so I would say he is pretty loyal to New Japan, so who is left that fans will get behind? Jericho, love him, but he is older, he doesn't want to work a full schedule, and AEW doesn't have the luxury to cater to part time stars.I loved ALL IN but was that the best they could do? Was that all they had? It's going to be tough they all left stability for the unknown and they have a major investor they have to answer to when things dont go so great. Plus none of them have ever ran a wrestling promotion. There are so many questions.

If TNA taught us anything it's it doesn't matter how much money you have to throw at it, you need a good product. People talk about the following they have, which is impressive for indie wrestlers, but here are some nerd stats for you: Young Bucks 295K Twitter Followers Kenny Omega 325K Twitter Followers Cody Rhodes 805K Twitter Followers R-Truth 1.5 Million Twitter Followers Being the Elite has 265K YouTube followers MattyBRaps has 11 Million YouTube followers

Built around the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship" As the recently deceased Mean Gene Okerlund would put it: Give Me A Break! I tend to agree with Billy. A lot of people in my circle were talking about the NWA, something that isn't typical for that group. I was going to go on about a diatribe how AEW is small potatoes now. They are in a similar situation with the NWA, with some pretty big named talent. But even then, these are all small potatoes to the WWE. All Elite Wrestling contracts are rumored to be exclusive, so don't expect some super show like All In for every event. As of right now, AEW has had one show. There are no guarantees that they can re-create the magic of All In. There are no guarantees that a travelling audience will follow each and every show, 10,000 in Chicago once is impressive. But are they going to draw 10,000 to Los Angeles? 10,000 to Orlando? 10,000 to Las Vegas? There has been no announcement of Television. There has been no announcement of any kind of distribution of content. All we know is that a press conference in Florida will kick off what's next for the Elite.

All In was built around Cody and the Young Bucks. The End. Cody could of faced a circus clown and it still would of sold out in the same amount of time. Again, people weren't talking about Cody because of the NWA, they were talking about the NWA because of Cody.
Back when All In was about to take place, I noted it drew because it was special. The more shows AEW does the less special it becomes and they won't be destination events. People paid and came from all over the world to go see all in. They won't do that for 4, 6, 8, or 12 shows a year.

Bravissimo! dkm "gets it." dkm's analysis can be carried over to the NWA 70th - - people came because it was special - - that once-every-decade anniversary show. The challenge for Coragan and Crew is to build off that as a brand. Not piggyback off someone else's card with a title match as the only trace of the NWA. It is a challenge I hope Corgan proves worthy of. He has the money and he also has great name recognition. Still, however, Billy has yet to be a visible force.

Built around the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship" As the recently deceased Mean Gene Okerlund would put it: Give Me A Break! I think you’re misquoting or misreading. The show was built on the success of The Bucks, Cody & Being The Elite. The hottest properties in wrestling who push the mantra that they are doing it all for the fans. The show sold 10,000 tickets because the fans believe in those guys and what they can offer So I never said ALL IN was BUILT on the NWA. What I said was the build for the match between Cody/Aldis was the best thing about that show which is a very common opinion on it. That match felt big time, a reason to purchase on PPV. Can you tell me what other matches were on that card without searching online? A build didn’t sell the tickets as they were already sold but the anticipation for Cody following in his fathers footsteps certainly stole the show.

Billy, Billy, Billy,
Misquoting/leading?
Surely you stand by your own words, old chap: "The best thing about ALL IN was the build around the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship."
All In was "built" around a cohesive business strategy; something the NWA lacks. Funding and talent were in-place. That an NWA strap was on the card is simply charming but somewhat, at best, collateral.
Do you deny, old bean, that Corgan has very deep pockets? Do you deny he has yet to involve his celebrity in the alleged resurfacing of the NWA?
And do you think, for even a split second, that Aldis or any other meaning ful talent would hesitate past tea time to jump ship if there are greener pastures offered them?
Corgan and Company talk, promise and spin. These guys are making it happen, Billy. Will it succeed? Who knows. But at ;east they are giving it the old school try.
Wot!

Another move in the right direction - - - (from Bob Magee's pwbts.com)
Brandi Rhodes, the wife of Cody, has been appointed the
Chief Brand Officer of All Elite Wrestling, joining her
husband in a corporate position in the newly-created
promotion funded by Tony Khan.
Rhodes will have the same position Stephanie McMahon has in
WWE, where she will oversee the brand image and represent
the promotion at any events.
Brandi, who was a WWE ring announcer, said that it was
always a dream of hers where she could marry her passions,
combining her academic past and entertainment future.
“I’m so excited that I’ve been named Chief Brand Officer of
AEW, and thrilled to continue to entertain inside and around
the ring. 2019 is going to be amazing,” she wrote in a post
on Twitter.
Apart from Cody and Brandi, The Young Bucks will also have
EVP roles within All Elite Wrestling as members of The Elite
will all have power positions in the company.

Just wondering why a company that is month upon months away is even a topic. Unless Aldis plans on doing work with AEW, then who cares. Proud and happy for all involved. To be honest the premise of All In is what sold tickets. The show was practically sold out before any matches were even announced. The NWA World Heavyweight Championship match drew our attention and gave it extra appeal. But we were already facinated.

So they had the bid rally yesterday and these are the confirmed signees
Cody Brandi Matt Jackson Nick Jackson Adam Page Joey Janella Penelope Ford Christopher Daniel's Scorpio Skyy Frankie Kazarian Cima Pac Chris Jericho Britt Baker MJF Billy Gunn
Granted I'm a big fan of PAC but on paper the lineup just doesn't look that strong to me. Personally I dont understand why they want Joey Janella, I've seen his work he puts himself over a lot, he's not special. Again there just isn't much in the way of star power. I'm still excited but ROH has been gutted, and I feel like this will close the door on GCW as Janela is one of the owners and main talents. Not to mention how many independents these guys appear on it's really going to hurt the smaller promotions.
