I've just finished it. This is truly the only modern wrestling show I am going to follow. I watched AEW it didn't appeal, Impact doesn't appeal, WWE doesn't appeal but this does. It's real wrestling with people who look and act like real wrestlers with people who care about the NWA. This is what I always wanted through the Bruce Tharpe era and we now have it.
Thoughts?
- The squash matches were interesting and did well to get the guys over. The Dawsons looked like beasts as did The Wildcards.
- The promos were all good with very few insider references that run rampant through wrestling today. Just guys talking about fighting one another except for Aldis and Tim Storm who actually did phenomenal jobs of getting me emotionally invested with just their words.
- The video packages highlighting the history between Aldis and Storm makes the new viewer care about Storm. Despite being adamantly against Storm a few years back some good booking and making him out to be this ultimate underdog is phenomenal and makes me care about what he is going to do next. Thought it was a nice touch that they talk about him being a teacher, a journeyman wrestler and filmed him in what looks like a classroom. Gives kind of a Rocky vibe.
- Aldis is a good guy to be a modern day Flair or Harley Race. Looks the part, acts the part and can wrestle.
- Thoroughly enjoyed Jocephus and James Storm.
- Set up is awesome.
- You guys will be hearing more from me as long as the NWA keeps uploading them on YouTube or somewhere I can watch.

It's almost hard to talk about. It was 1981 (when I was 13) to some extent but didn't feel old or archaic. These guys look like wrestlers, they talked like wrestlers, and the promos are so obviously not scripted. There was a good mix of competitive and squash matches. The only thing I like to be "improved" is I couldn't always here the commentary because of the ring noise.

Sometimes it was difficult to hear the commentators. But I really felt like I was sitting back in my parents’ house as a kid (1980’s) watching the NWA from Georgia & Florida .

144k YouTube views with limited promotion gotta be success in my eyes. I tend to think those numbers for future will improve due to the positive reviews I've seen.

I was excited, Im glad I figured out where to remove the likes and comments during the show so it was not distracting on my apple tv. Similar to NXT I would love 2 hours a week. It seems that all of my favorite promotions I could watch more than an hour a week, but that is the beauty. It is just enought to make you come back. MLW - Love it each and every week. There are a few guys on there I am not high on as of yet but they do have good matches to start the show
NXT - I feel in love with it on Hulu and I am still a fan
ROH - Changed the format to be more like a highlight of what is on Honor Club, This started about a month ago. Really hate it right now, and I am not going to buy Honor Club again just so I can watch what I used to for free weekly, I paid to watch Live events and older content
WWE - I feel it is just too long and too much filler, I do watch each week but there is a lot I fast forward thru
Impact - That is another show I fast forward thru to the good parts
NWA - It is perfect in how it is done (Song is still stuck in my head)

As a guy who grew up on 1970's "Wrestling At The Chase" in St.Louis (you know, one of those places other than Georgia/Mid-Atlantic that the NWA had just a little bit of success in as well) this had everything that has been missing from pro wrestling for me since it's demise. Action focused. Wild, yet restrained enough not to insult intelligence. NO f'n fly on the wall backstage bs or skits. And just that feel that only those of us old enough to remember that THIS is what wrestling was once supposed to look like, and pretty much did everywhere can get. When it was "real".

I agree with all of the above. My only reservation is the spoilers. We're all watching the Wildcards being challenged, while knowing they've already lost the belts to Punky and Hoot.
Great show though. Jim Cornette was perfect as was the play-by-play.
David Marquez was a great old school interviewer.
I was worried when I read James Storm had squashed Josephus in 5 seconds, but it made sense as a sneak attack.
The squash matches were a great way of putting the talent over.
Superb main event between two tweeners. It had the vibe of Flair vs Terry Funk in 1989. Violent but within the confines of wrestling. No thumbtacks or light tubes, just hard hitting rassling.
10/10 for the show and production. Great to see how much it trended on Twitter and got endorsements from the likes of the Rock.
I just worry about the spoilers, and how Corgan is actually going to make it sustainable, paying 30 wrestlers out of his own pocket every month.

I just worry about the spoilers, and how Corgan is actually going to make it sustainable, paying 30 wrestlers out of his own pocket every month. I think that's the importance of the views. There's definitely interest in this product. I think we'll start seeing sponsors coming sooner than later and that'll help Corgan with paying the talent.

Considering he is taping every two months, the impact won't hurt so much.
They have a plan and I am sure they have a budget. How do Marquez survives with multiple promotions? Corgan probably studied him.

Spoilers have never bothered me and I don't understand why it bothers a lot of fans of this business. In my opinion you need to see the visual instead of what someone said who beat who. You need to see the final product, the direction and then you can bring your opinions in after that. Those who don't give it a chance just on spoilers sometimes miss out on a lot! This was a great start, but it definitely can improve and i'm sure David Lagana, Billy Corgan and crew will work very hard on getting this to the next level. I definitely enjoyed it and the hour flew right by. I felt like I was a kid again.

Finally watched this morning. Very well done. Felt like old school studio wrestling. Grew up on Memphis from channel 5 studios and although quite a different product, same format and feel. The studio audience was great, played their part perfectly which i believe to be essential to a studio show. Entertaining with a very solid main event. Aldis again proving to be a worthy champion and flag bearer in the ring and on the mic. Excited about this!

I watched Eddie Kingston promo like 10 times. "I'm going to speak GOD,let me speak GOD". Then you got Homicide wearing the rap legends NWA shirt on a NWA show. Might be my favorite promo of 2019. Such raw intensity.
