Great episode.
The NWA as far as I’m concerned has a better roster than AEW.
Aldis, T Storm, J Storm, Ken Anderson, Ely Drake, Aron Stevens, Colt Cabana, Jocephus, Caleb, Ricky Starks, Alyson Kay, Eddie Kingston, Homicide, the Rock n Roll Express, the Wildcards... some good talented and nicely booked.
I don’t really see the point of the pirate movie and Austin Idol sketches.
The Dawsons seem over pushed while Josephus seems to get buried every week which is odd. He has gone from Bruiser Brody to Dude Love.
Corny and Gali were great on the mic.
Main event was good.

Josephus works behind the scenes which is probably part of the reason he's in his current role.

Josephus works behind the scenes which is probably part of the reason he's in his current role. Pay close attention to the new talent: the Question Mark and you’ll see what they were doing to provide Jocephus a new gimmick. The guy was INCREDIBLY over with the live crowd because the character is so painfully unbelievable. I believe he’ll get good mileage from this and allow the Jocephus character to pop back up later as a surprise antagonist, probably taken much more serious then he has been during the onset of NWA Powerrr.

Jeffery Epstein was incredibly over with a large & wealthy crowd.. Just being popular does not mean it is right.. Also he did not kill himself..

So this is kind of a Joseph Parks - Abyss type deal, or Dusty-Midnight Rider where we're all in on the joke except the authority.
And yes, Epstein didn't kill himself

Being over and staying over are different things. Same guy, same weaknesses.

A better gimmick can get someone over though. Kane was more over than Isaac Yankem. The Undertaker was more over than Mean Mark Callous, Diesel was more over than Vinnie Vegas

Josephus isn't any of them.

Been watching Jocephus on the TN indy circuit for several years and he was over with his chain swinging Bruiser Brody gimmick and as part of The Brotherhood with Jeff Crippler Daniels but fell pretty fast with The Kingdom gimmick and so far hasn't gotten it back. Fans seemed to buy into his brawler style but then he began to do highly intelligent promos and we no longer bought the wildman brawler. Much like Brody who was also highly intelligent but kept kayfabe by not letting it known to the fans. His unpredictability and seemingly out of control persona made him seem more dangerous and frightening to ringside fans. That mystique would have been ruined much the same as Jocephus if he began to cut promos that exposed his high IQ. Just my 2 cents.

He took a lot of heat (and not the good kind) for Being a poor man's Bruiser Brody. I didn't mind him on NWA SAW or other indie shows but there is a difference between working indie shows and working something that is trying to be bigger. I don't doubt that he is intelligent or even good behind the scenes but he needs to stop wrestling. It's hard to judge a gimmick by the reaction that a "hot" and "Hardcore" loyal fan base are going to give you. On American Idol the crowd loved everybody and boo bad reviews. At work the next day, coworkers talked worse than the judges about the singers.
