What'd we all think?
- Trevor Murdoch saying he signed a contract was great. He is the star pupil of Harley Race, looks the part of a classic NWA wrestler and is an experienced veteran. Happy to know he'll be around regularly. If you all recall I actually pitched Murdoch to be NWA World Heavyweight Champion a few years back so it's great to see him here.
- Enjoyed The Pope debuting. He's super charismatic and I was a fan of his since his time in TNA. He still has that amazing microphone work and I'm interested in who he will manage.
- Kingston Vs Starks was a fun bout. Good to see Ricky get the win and keep his momentum going. They seem to view him as the future which is a good thing because he's got potential.
- Royce Isaacs has a new girlfriend. Planting the seeds for a little bit of inner fighting between Kamille and Mae (May?) Valentine?
- Subsequent match was a nothing match and didn't make much sense as of yet. Why would Isaacs make a challenge to ANYONE and then back down from Storm? I understand Storm is a top guy but surely having a valiant fight with Storm and then bailing out once the match is without question Storms would make much more sense. Anywho, will see how it goes. Crowd was hot for that count out win though, weren't they?
- Not sure I've mentioned this before but it's cool seeing friend of the board David Marquez on TV every week. As someone who discovered the NWA in 2005-2006 Dave Marquez and his "NWA updates" from the New Japan USA Dojo at the time were my first introduction to the NWA and talents such as Bobby Jo Marshall, Dru Onyx, Fergall Devitt (Now Finn Balor) and many others. He's also been fiercely loyal to the NWA since AT LEAST that time so kudos to Dave. Was great seeing him have a little bit of fun with Eli Drake this week.
- Speaking of Eli Drake he is without question the most entertaining act in professional wrestling right now. Absolutely oozes charisma, the audience adores him, he has a good look and can wrestle. He definitely needs to be the man to beat Nick Aldis for the NWA World Heavyweight Title whenever that change does occur. My favourite part of this weeks show.
- Aldis' turning full heel is entertaining. Wildcards and Kamille are good fits for him also. I predicted in 2014 that one day Magnus would be a big deal after I expected TNA to start doing some big business with him. It took a little while longer but seeing Aldis as a huge star in the NWA is pretty great for me.
- RNR Express were fine but if Ricky Morton does challenge for the NWA World Heavyweight Title which they seem to be setting up for he better not last longer than 5 minutes with Aldis. He looks old and in ring he looks old also. Why no World Tag Titles on the shoulders of the RNR this week either?
- Women's tag was what it was. Cool seeing Melina on TV every week as I grew up watching her. Interesting that Rosa picks ODB and not Kay. Wonder what they're planning?
- Tim Storm was criminally misused by Bruce Tharpe but Corgan, Lagana and co have made him compelling and entertaining. Who can't get behind a guy wanting to win because his 95 year old mum says he ain't done yet? Good stuff and it makes you want to root for Storm. Aldis Vs Storm will be interesting and is a nice nod to episode 1.
- Main Event wasn't too exciting. I like Question Mark but Colt Cabana is a former NWA World and National Champion. To me it isn't right that Question beats him in three minutes or so. Cabana should be one of the main players in the NWA whilst Question Mark is pretty much a comedy character.
