I'll gladly wear it to shows and have exotic swimsuit models take photos wearing it. C'mon... this is a great idea. Like Manimal & Joey Ryan?

Just to get back to Tharpe allegedly buying the belt (Or the NWA members doing so) I do have to ask why not just bring JR to an NWA territory and do the HOF induction at that show with the same money?
If it were me I'd have done the JR appearance at NWA Smoky Mountain who actually are doing their Smoky Mountain Cup next weekend. If you didn't want to take away from the tournament they're doing a show in May featuring X-Pac and Michael Elgin. You could have had JR appear on one of these NWA Smoky Mountain Shows, have him accept the award which would give the Smoky Mountain fans a cool moment, the promotion gets JR who everyone loves and adores and also the footage of JR accepting the award for their TV Show whilst the NWA looks good for giving one of their territories something for nothing. Also, I assume the wrestling websites are going to report JR's induction so potentially if you offer a match which people want to see (Such as Michael Elgin Vs X-Pac) they might tune into the TV Show or buy a DVD which leads to you building your top territory more...
I don't know, that all seems more worthwhile to me then just dropping 2 grand on a belt to simply hand over to JR as a gift on a non NWA show although to be fair I don't know if you could get JR to appear on a show for 2000.

Well think of it this way the Belt cost 2 grand. Booking Ross could be 2-10 times that so it is more economical please the belt get attention. Booking Ross for a Smoky Mt show may not get the notoriety.

I don't think it'd be 20,000 to bring Ross in but it could be over 2 grand. I think with the amount of appearances JR makes (It's very few) Smoky Mountain could get some notoriety from it.

Important Award Clarification – Please Read APRIL 8, 2016 0 COMMENTS
The CAC has received reports that FOX SPORTS has written an article stating that a Cauliflower Alley Club’s NWA award will be presented to Jim Ross at this years reunion. To clarify, NO executive decision was made by the Board of Directors of the Cauliflower Alley Club to approve such award, nor have any plans been made for a presentation at either the Bockwinkel Blowout (Tuesday night) or the Wednesday night banquet. Jim Ross without a doubt deserves any and all recognition he receives for his contributions to professional wrestling, but to clarify this is not an official CAC Award.
I'm assuming that J.R. would get NWA HOF at the Casino Royal matches and not at any of the sanction CAC events

TGI Friday's is a chain restaurant and there is one located at the Gold Coast. Its also a "common place" for everyone while the CAC is going on.

Okay... so any Office Fans out there?
Because if they are giving Jim Ross a Leather Rebels Championship Belt and inducting him into the NWA Hall of Fame at a TGI Fridays... it feels pretty much like Michael Scott at Chili's, giving Pam Beasely a Dundee for having the whitest tennis shoes.

It's fitting for a parody of a president in charge of the alliance. It's such an embarrassment! I know DKM has new rules on critizing but how he has buried the remains of the NWA is incredible. the NWA has become the ego project to make this man feel important to pretend he has a life time in the business, what is Bruce Tharpe is he a former wrestler, a promoter, someone who has even contributed anything to the world of professional wrestling? He is none of the mentioned. It's a shame because the NWA could at least be small and credible but it's the subject of ridicule or avoidance of any meaning because it's poorly represented. Nice belt, shame it's going to be unveiled in a TGI Fridays!

What exactly is a TGI Fridays? Is it a restaurant with function rooms where perhaps Tharpe is going to do some set up and have a small 50-60 seat presentation in a small auditorium with cameras etc or is he simply going to sit at a table in front of 10 NWA people and award the belt to JR in a crowded restaurant?
The reason I ask is because some non chain restaurants in my town (And surrounding areas) offer function rooms that are pretty low end and cheap which I've always thought would be perfect for those "Dinner with the wrestler" or presentation type events. Lets hope Bruce has managed to get something like that and isn't just taking the belt out of a plastic bag and handing it to JR.
Also, why not try and make some cash off of this? If he managed to rent a 50-60 seat function room and he has 10 of his guys there or whatever why not sell 50 seats at 20 dollars a seat? For the chance to see JR be inducted into a Hall Of Fame, hear the man speak about the old days and potentially meet him I'd pay twenty. I'm sure a lot of old school wrestling fans (Who will be in town for Cauliflower Alley) would pay it as well.
