The NWA did not go back and say "We don't recognize this again". It has, just not in a press release. Others have noticed and asked in other places.

I have no argument anymore and not just a copy and lift of wrestling-titles.com's title lineageĀ and saying "this is what the NWA recognizes" First, it came from another source. Secondly, since when is it up to you to decide what needs to be done to make it official?

Listen, I've been fighting for the NWA's rights with the internet since it first was a sub message board part of the Ringwarriors website in the 90's. I went back and forth with Hisa (owner of wrestling-titles.com) and fought for him to change what he recognized at the time: he recognized that there was a difference between pre 1993 NWA and post 1993 NWA and that they aren't the same NWA. We went back and forth many, many times and I explained how everything that went down, how WCW was different from the NWA legally, That Turner's new WCW was NOT Jim Crockett Promotions legally or was this new organization a member of the NWA, and I gave him great detail from my research at the dawn of the internet age. This back and forth is NOTHING compared to trying to explain the "NWA became WCW" mentality that existed for nearly 20 years (and sometimes still rears its ugly head every now and then).
I cant believe that Bruce Tharpe actually sat down and said , "Yes, lets remove a reign from Harley Race, and Ric Flair" 2 staples of the Alliance as its world champion, recognized for the last 24 years as an 8 time and 10 time champ respectively (including on WWE documentaries) because someone discovered the re-match didn't happen. 24 years ago. The Jack Venano, Carlos Colon and Victor Jovica title changes all occurred too. The difference? the NWA didn't recognize it. That's why I don't consider them former champions. If the NWA says tomorrow "we recognize these" then I would too, because the NWA OWNS the lineage and they control it.
So for your sake of argument, when you ask "why do you need it officially?" because when you have legal precedent, you understand why something has to be that way and why its recognized. This would be a BIG change to take away a reign from Flair and Race decades later and would be news worthy. And if we didn't have legal precedent, the NWA vs WCW war would never have been overcome. Its something we can point to and say "This is why we do/do not recognize this".
Id rather say to some future historian when they ask why wasn't it recognized anymore and you can point to something and say "This is why it was rescinded by the NWA"... Right now, its "there is no official statement from the NWA" so its in limbo. My honest opinion, no one in the actual NWA evens knows about this changed title history, the lineage was lifted from another source, and placed on there as the official lineage and its not really official and we are running with it like it's gospel. Period.

It was rescinded because there was never an official title change. Actions by later boards were probably made with incorrect assumptions (Race won the title and Flair won it back) and with new information the record has been corrected.
Believe what you want, keep your own records, agree or disagree, think its dumb or prudent, it is the reality.
