This matter aside, please know that Japan's Zero 1 promotion was given rights-in-perpetuity to use the brand, its' logo, marks, etc.
Zero 1 often promotes branded tag team matches on its' cards throughout Japan.

I apologize to you Mr. Fred if I hit a nerve with my post. I know there are alot of people that are not fans of Bruce and that is cool. I just like keeping up with the promotions and championships used in all the NWA promotions and I like to make sure I have the most accurate info so I can keep my home NWA records updated

Yeah, don't know anything about who is behind the promotion or who is wrestling for them.
It will be interesting.

Chris - - no apology needed as there is no offense taken, I assure you.
Just wanted to provide information for the record. The rights-in-perpetuity were bestowed to Zero 1 before the brand was surrendered. And just like the perpetual rights given to the Fed, they survive whether used or not.
The brand was once held in very high esteem in the Japanese market. It was main event on many cards that played to SRO houses and had millions of PPV buys. Its recent appearance on cards promoted by New Japan saddened me when I saw whereon branded matches were placed. That was a salient testimonial to several factors I will not discuss on this site due to my knowledge being privileged.
Thank you for your manifestation of respect, Chris. I assure you the feeling is mutual.

This is what I suggested when Bruce had the NJPW deal so on that front it's great that the NWA actually has a promotion in Japan officially. What I would like to see though is instead of Bruce saying "Diamond Star Wrestling!", writing in broken English and simply promoting himself or how this is his 16th tour of Japan or how much he loves Japan how about we promote their stars?
On their card so far they have Rob Terry who is a former international TV star although it's only TNA. They're using Dean Allmark who is a good British talent and Minoru Tanaka who is a pretty big star in Japan. This is all impressive stuff but it comes second to Tharpe and his self hype.

That card was going to happen anyway. Then they added the tag champs....and then Howdy Doody weasels his way in. Then it's an alliance show. Yeah right. Don't over think this and believe there was any planning by El Presidente. This is the brand associating itself with other entities that are footing the bill. Business as usual. The brand is a gimmick in Japan, nothing more. The alliance having mid card presence as a result of NJPw's story line is at least something a start up can work with to get started. Other than Chase how many of the alliance guys is NJPW booking now? None is the correct answer. They got what they wanted out of the story line....and found a keeper in Chase in the process. I watched Chase come to the tryouts at Invasion, impress them and earn his shot. Him becoming part of their roster is his own doing. Everything else was part of the storyline gimmick. Once the gimmick was done, so was everyone involved.
