The promoter of the event, David Fuller, has been on PW Insider's podcast, MLW's Independent Wrestling podcast and is on today's Jim Cornette Experience.
He really is busting his ass to make this thing draw. I truly believe he will be successful. I have faith in him.

It should be pointed out that David Fuller has been working hard, gotten some good deals, and he has been on six different podcasts so far, including with Mike Johnson for PWInsider and the Jim Cornette Experience, which should post in the next couple of days. He is pounding the pavement, has posters put up in business in the area, been using social media well (including being retweeted by Jim Ross and others), has sold tickets to people in Europe and across the US already.
He has former WWE stars (Haas, Conway), a current ROH champion (Rowe), a current ROH manager/Woman's wrestler (Scott) as well as a lot top local talent for the show. He has a legend in Jim Cornette, a former WWE announcer in Mike McGuirk, as well as World Class announcing legend, Mark Lawrence. He has every major NWA title, except one, on the show.
Will it be “successful”? I don’t know, but if not it won’t be for the lack of effort.

So as pro wrestling fans....not alliance fans....pro wrestling fans....which matches are "must see"? Just curious as a promoter who is reformatting my business plan. Anything with Rowe is usually really good. Define "must see" but I'd go with Rowe vs Mack vs Hoyt plus Charlie Haas challenging Dane for the world title. Matches with athletes/workers who you believe will deliver great matches. Matches that say "this isn't just another local promotion". Something original, compelling......something you haven't seen before and feel as though you "can't miss". I'll give a for instance. At the "Bustin for Autism" event I did last July, we pitted Danny Ramons (up and coming young guy who I think is fantastic) against Joey Ryan. It opened the event and tore down the house. To my knowledge, that match hadn't yet happened in Texas or anywhere else. Local up and comer versus an indie guy who is a very well respected worker and great talent who is getting booked at a lot of good promotions. They really delivered in the ring. I guess Danny isn't in "can't miss" territory yet so maybe it's not a perfect analogy....but in hindsight, it was "must see". That was more of a situation where I believed it was "must see" in advance...but not all of the fans realized it until it got going. Dreamer v Hoyt at the Autism event wasn't necessarily original, but it was compelling and really delivered. Forgot to mention Hoyt in my original post/question. Hoyt is a true professional in every way. Hoyt and Rowe are two guys who are usually in "match of the evening"....or "worthy of a main event anywhere" discussions.

Love how DKM has been on the "lolz Polejump and his names!" and "Names don't matter" bandwagon for years but to prove that this show is big the only thing he's talking about are the names involved with the show. Golden.
Regardless, I do agree. 4 former WWE stars (Mack was WWE for a couple years and Hoyt had a run there along with Haas and Conway), a NJPW semi regular (Owens), A ROH Tag Champion (Rowe) and a legend in Cornette. Throw in a couple of local legends and it's a solid show on paper.
I also do agree with Mr. Tony Brooklyn though. There isn't really anything that is "must see" for an audience outside of Texas. I'd probably attend this card to see the "name" guys and get a photo with Jim Cornette but I wouldn't buy a DVD of this or pay 5 bucks for a live stream.

I'll answer the two of you together. When you look at the "Names" several are local or work this area on a regular basis. Haas and Hoyt live in the area, Mack and Rowe wrestler through out Texas, Scott is likely in town for already for the two ROH shows. So while, yes "names" are being used, outside of Cornette they are using resources that are part of the area but may have appeal to those who are coming into town from out of state.
After that, I'm not really sure what is must see. Moonshine Mantel recently won the Main Event title at a show that drew 700-1000. He is a talented guy I've seen live five times or so but honestly has been used mid-card and in tag matches. Tony Givens has drawn 1500+ a few times without any "names"
Personally, I went to Greenville to see the NWA World Heavyweight title match between Adam Pearce and Charlie Haas. Honestly, who was in the match didn't matter a much, I went to see the title. I went to Sherman years ago to see Phil Shatter (Gunner). I went to Sherman last year to see the new Freebirds. I went to San Antonio because I was betting on Jax Dane winning the title.
I guess must see is A) something that is personal to me and B) whatever you can convince is must see.

So Steve Anthony is going to get the Jr Heavy from Tiger Mask, probably the last time you see NWA in NJPW.
Another championship match for the Parade of Champions I guess.

Another championship match for the Parade of Champions I guess. Oh I hope so, that would be historic. First time all the company titles would be defended on one card.

I'd be shocked if Saxon DOESN'T win. On a side note, I'm guessing the new belts will debut at the POC. Right?
