Seeing it live... it was good for what it was. The fans who were in attendance were happy and took to Ellsworth.

DKM.....why not?
I'll tell you why I think I like it. Ellsworth isn't "expensive", and is fresh off WWE TV. Take another look at the segment, he did a great job of building himself up as a legitimate threat to take the title, even if it seems a little delusional. The video almost had an ECW feel to it, like Mikey Whiipwreck challenging Shane Douglas.
Do I see an extended program with these two? No, but I'm more interested in a match with Ellsworth than another with Jocephus.

Phil, I hear he's asking for an outrageous amount of money for who he is.

I would rather see Fred with his shirt off (again) then anything with Josephus

Ellsworth is really asking for 1500 for indy shots? Dude did nothing in WWE except fluke a win over AJ.
According to that leaked list a few months back Ellsworth is charging more than:
Sabu (1300.00), Hornswoggle (1300.00), Pentagon Jr (1000.00), Chavo Guerrero Jr (1000.00), Moose (800.00), Brodus Clay (800.00), EC3 (800.00), Michael Elgin (500.00), Colt Cabana (500.00)
I know many guys who were big names in the 80's and 90's charge much less also. Who does this dude think he is? Lol

I mean... the Market is worth what the market can bare. If he can get it, god bless him. I heard that the $1500 is a mark price. I personally wouldn't pay him $1500, because he's not a draw for me. But I enjoyed the match, the segment.

A mark price can be 2 to 3 times more than what they would really take to work. Not sure I'd pay $500. If promoted right he might draw an extra 20 to 30 people around my neck of the woods.

Elasticity of demand I guess.
Probably expected a certain level of business coming from the WWE, might as well cash in whilst he can.
Would I pay him that? No, but does an Ellsworth have his uses? Certainly.

Who does this dude think he is? Lol Jay said it best. It's what the market will bear. Some of the workers mentioned have seen their prices come down as they moved further from their last TV appearance, so it's really hard to compare Ellsworth to some of the names on that list. Would I pay $1500 for him? Hell no, though I'm CERTAIN he wasn't given that kind of money for the match vs. Aldis, which is part of why I think there was some value here. Again, NWA is working quickly to line 'em up and create that larger than life persona for Aldis by having him beat "names". Remember, while he's had time in TNA/Impact and GFW, many of the kids who are watching the WWE product today have no idea who he is, so seeing him defeat a guy fresh offf WWE TV gives him instant credibility for that audience (assuming they see the match).

The sad thing is more people know who Ellsworth is than Aldis
