Looks like El Presidente is looking to establish a new home court. Rocky Mountain High baby! As I've said before....geographical cures don't work. No matter where you go....there you are. Colorado bar exam or Japan? Colorado bar exam or Japan? Must have been a tough choice. Would his move have anything to do with your case? Why would a move to Colorado protect him? Or is it unrelated and he just fancies a change of scenery?

A Private Investigator's report commissioned by former colleagues is strongly rumored to contain interviews with his residential neighbors. They, I am told, confirm with disgust that the noble Barrister frequently fills the air with " a pungent aroma." Steve - - there's a salient truism: You can run but you can't hide. Google the case of International Shoe versus Washington for some interesting, applicable reading. The Bungling Barrister once relied on that doctrine to curmudgeon others. He will soon find out what a boomerang is. E Pluribus Unum - You Deserve Justice!

Hi Fred, Is the investigation leading to a criminal prosecution? I have refrained from commenting and will not pass bad judgement on the current regime but reading through the posts I had to ask that question solely.

I have refrained from commenting and will not pass bad judgement on the current regime but reading through the posts I had to ask that question solely. Don't mean to sound elusive, if I do please pardon me. Certain evidence is in the hands of the proper authorities in the State of Texas and Washington, DC. It is left to them to proceed accordingly. No inference or conclusion, albeit it unintentional, or declaration that laws, standards, etc. have been violated should be drawn.

Well I am not a lawyer nor have I ever sued or been sued so I experience is extremely limited on the subject. You aren't a lawyer? Good! Do you know why they bury lawyers 100 feet deep? Because deep down they are good people. My cousin J is a Estate/Inheritance lawyer and he is a SNAKE. Once back in the 90s my cousin Nick and I had just left the June Greek Festival to go to a local Greek Tavernia to drink some beers and listen to Greek music with some girls. Lawyer J came in ordered a BIG app plate and insisted both of his "cousins" have some. He left earler and stuck both his "cousins" with 1/2 the bill. Mind you this was in 1998 and both Nick and I were BROKE! I was making 4.50 and my Dad's taco shop and my cousin Nick was working at a supermarket. Later my "cousin" J took my Dad his Uncle to collections cause my Dad was in Greece so he couldn't pay the 200,00 bill even though J chargers 300/hr. Finally he screwed my best friend out of 30K (A couple of 100 year old books and painting because he gave SHIT advice). The 30K was his fee not doing shit while complaining about my buddy's lawyer's stall tactics. So yeah, I am NOT a fan of Lawyers!!!

To be honest, if I bought the rights to the NWA tomorrow for X amount of dollars, I'd likely delegate a ton of responsibilities. I'd certainly get with all of the promoters and bookers and itch out a plan for not only the NWA brand but for their local promotions. I don't know anything about booking; therefore, that responsibility would be on some sort of council led by the individual bookers. I'd say my biggest responsibility is getting the local promotions on local TV and at worst on YouTube or some other streaming network. Which includes cameras, production equipment etc... On top of that, those like Smoky Mountain, that are already on local tv, how do I ensure they have at least 1 live iPPV a quarter. Therefore, the progression has to be babysteps from YouTube to TV to iPPV's. In the meantime I'd encourage regional promotions (territories) to put on supershows and air them live on iPPV. I definitely don't know what the alliance profile is for wrestlers nor the style. But you definitely gotta do what you gotta do that makes you the most money. I have to agree with your last para. Fair points all the way around. Nice thoughts about getting together with the promoters, scratching out a plan, etc. Same thoughts I had. The reality is, you can't get 2 promoters to agree on 1 champion much less dozens to make numerous decisions. Wrestling is a very selfish industry that has a lot of insecure people in it. Everyone is out for themselves, their guy or their promotion....and can't look at things rationally. If you are going to be delegating, you'd better be paying the people in those spots....and then you'd better be supervising them to make sure they are doing their jobs. Virtually everyone you delegate to will let you down. Guaranteed. Lets say you get all of the help you desire through delegation and are now working on the TV project. How much do you think it costs to run good television? How much per episode will it cost? Too many promotions provide video thats not properly lit, etc. The best independent TV I think I've seen was at Total Championship Wrestling. I have a good idea of what it cost Matt to run that thing...it's probably the reason he's not doing it anymore. So lets say you have really good TV, like Matt had. Now....who sees it? Are you going to buy television rights and sell the advertisements yourself across the country? Who exactly sees value in advertising on minor league wrestling television? Thats what the alliance is...and would be...unless you had Panda Energy money to burn. It all sounds easy....but it's the farthest thing from easy. Lets say your delegation works, you get great looking TV, you have distribution and advertisements sold....now you have to get ratings. WWE is struggling for ratings. Wrestling on TV isn't what it used to be. Wrestling in arenas across the country isn't what it used to be. The fact is....anyone who hasn't done this before would struggle to get past step 1 (the delegation and management of the brand, licensees, talent, etc). not js fuel

Since this is a thread about the alliance (it's "leader"), it might be fun to suggest some fantasy story lines.
Here's a story I came up with.
He plays a heel character and wears the sequin jackets, etc. I think he needs to play that heel character out in full force in the United States....really amp it up. So much so that he ends up in a story line....maybe with someone like a baby face yet wealthy Matt Riviera....who challenges him for control of the alliance.
In the process of trying to hold on, the Prez declares he will forsake everything to maintain control.....including his professional career, wife, family, clients, business associates, friends, etc....in order to hold on. He does so and prevails....but is later taken to court because he had a contract with Riviera to act as his lawyer. He is found in violation of ethics and conflict of interest by a regulatory committee...and is sanctioned accordingly. Riviera then takes him to court to seek damages and wins a big judgement against him....which Matt uses to take control of the alliance.
What is the pay off?
Other than a baby face winning and taking control, he could move on to operating as owner totally behind the scenes (as he should be doing now) and let the talent play the authority spots, etc. It's a good way of removing himself from the equation. It's very WWE'ish...which makes sense right? After all he is the equivalent of Vince McMahon....right?
Good story?
Anyone else have a booking idea? Remember, this is about the alliance only....so the booking should mainly be about the Prez. Wrestlers and promotions are secondary.

Phase 2 of my booking IDEA...now it's just an IDEA.....if you guys don't like it we don't have to do it...
THE CONTINUED DEMISE.
The former owner and president moves to the Rocky Mountains. Not able to continue with his law career, he opens a marijuana cafe in the Denver suburbs and starts hanging with the wrong crowd. Each vignette shows his life deteriorating more and more. The announcers start setting up the come back by voicing their pity on him, in spite of how horrible his previous actions were.
Phase 3....
THE COME BACK
After a stint in rehab, a humbled former Prez returns and admits his wrong doings....and promises to right all of his wrongs. The next 7 seasons of alliance "TeeVee" follows the stories of him making amends to all he had harmed. After doing so, a benevolent Riviera gives the rehabilitated yet broken man his identity back by giving him back the alliance.
Phase 4.....relapse of behavior...the evil Prez returns.....rinse, repeat.
It's a great story. It's all about him. In between these vignettes and stories we could actually have some wrestling matches too.

And on to the epilogue of the Broadway-worthy scenarios Mister Brooklyn has generously shared with all who peruse this forum: Unbridled egomania, chronic narcissism, unsavory business practices, flagrant substance abuse and similar conduct are all self-destructive maladies. Unchecked, they can destroy a human being. Dealing with them takes courage. Some have the guts and moxie. Some are like the soft drink 7-Up - - "never had it and never will". The master Villain in this tale is possessed. He runs amok in a maze; a path to nowhere as he bounces off the spiked walls desperately seeking validation. He proves that truth can be stranger than fiction. Enter the hero/heroine. The name on the business card reads . . . Justice.Do we have a villain roaming free of chains? An anti-Christ so capable of evil that the good book burns in his/her hands? The list of accomplishments are few. The sins could fill a snake pit. Justice. The "Brownsville Barrister" was born and should have remained as a suitcase gimmick. But a pathetic few are so bankrupt of integrity, morals, and love that they try and compensate by living a gimmick. Fantasy morphs into reality in their perverse minds. Lies become truths. Deceit becomes integrity. They swear an oath before Almighty God and butcher it after a feigned "Amen."If Hades exists, they negotiate an eternal lease. Justice. Then, in the blink of an eye, real life takes charge; it kicks in like a barnyard mule. Their plethora of sins/crimes/misdeeds are larger than the national debt. An arena packed to capacity with victims who sit eagerly waiting to view the inevitable slip on the banana peel. The Wicked Gladiator clad in the black thong of evil looks at the crowd. Their thumbs all pointed downward toward the pits of eternal damnation. Justice.Perhaps it will happen in a month. Or a week. Or a minute. Perhaps it already has happened. And now the well-earned consequences of your misconduct and dastardly deeds take hold. "Iron bars do not a prison make." There are other ways to live in hell. The slogan you speak are the words that have boomeranged and spell your demise. As Ramesses, Pharaoh of Egypt, proclaimed: "So let it be written. So let it be done."Justice.Like any mutant who might choose to live their life in this manner, they destroy their family; often blaming a spouse for their own shortcomings. They lie and ridicule the spouse. They spout false bravado about how they "made her a woman" using the most vile pornographic illustrations about the very lady who bore and now raises their children; children whom they turn their back on as they blindly run the fool's errand of chasing an elusive butterfly. They might cheat her out of property, hide assets and worse. These sexual braggarts who bear male genitalia usually have strong wrists. They develop because their true conquests were in the palms of their hands and deviant imaginations, not in the sanctity of the marital boudoir. Justice.Paranoia sets in. It keeps these fake, phony, frauds awake at night. A simple knock at the door evokes fear, perspiration and shortness of breath no machine can overcome. The protagonist has aggrieved many. Both coasts. The Center States. Overseas. The grim reaper of Justice knows no single territory, nation or zip code. His beat has no boundaries. Justice.Who, then, seeks entry to my abode??? Why are Police Officers at the airport looking at me??? Why do I stand in a mass of people but feel all alone??? Is it the FBI??? Is it the Sheriff??? Is it the violent criminal whose wife I physically conquered in a backyard swimming pool while I left him to rot in jail???
Is it the young practitioner whose career I might have destroyed and whose alleged sexuality I ridiculed???Is it the kickboxing jurist whom I exposed in emails, text messages and recorded conversations???All valid fears. All real concerns. All possible as the dragnet closes and escape becomes impossible. Justice. The crowd once cheered. Now, the crowd laughs. Now, the crowd dwindles. Soon, he wallows on his knees as a majority of one - begging the God he defiled to grant him mercy and salvation. Justice. For the cheap sequins no longer shine. The store-bought teeth no longer glisten. The instrument of manhood is forever flaccid. Justice.Alas, the curtain begins to fall and the lights dim and the final bell tolls on this somewhat-Shakespearean melodrama . . . You Deserve Justice. And JUSTICE is exactly what you will get . . .
