Cornette (and the Rock n Roll Express) was one of the few tangible links the NWA has to the pre 1993 NWA.
Losing him to appease a bunch of crying millennials is a bad strategy.
Wrestling has always had stereotypes and abrasive characters. I watched Windham-Muta (NWA title change 1993) recently and Flair was on commentary and said "all those Japs are tough". He was complimenting Muta and the touch training NJPW did. But now that would be considered racist.
I hope they replace Corny with another old school colour man, but I don't know who. AEW have Jim Ross and Tony Schiavonne. Maybe someone like Larry Zbyszko.

Yeah, despite only being 28 years old I agree with you all about political correctness ruining good things and how shitty millennials are. The comment wasn't really all that offensive (Although I'm white so maybe I can't speak on that) and Cornette is now being labelled a racist despite putting many black guys over on his podcast for their talent.
Sad to see him go I love his commentary and Cornette is passionate about the NWA which is what they need.

This is a good sign that the people actually care a little about the nwa. People are watching.

While I understand how traditionalist NWA fans want Cornette to stick around, but if they are trying to reach a larger audience Jimmy had to go!! You guys want the NWA to be bigger than a YouTube show sacrifices have to be made. I'm not convinced. Ultimately the wrestlers are what will get the show over or not.

Losing Cornette is going to absolutely gut NWA Powerrr and the vibe and atmosphere they are trying to create. Dutch Mantell is the only person I think could step in for Cornette and maybe keep the momentum going. I never once have tunned into a wrestling show based on the announcer. I also never turned a show off based on an announcer. If we are making suggestions, I'd venture to say that Raven would be a good choice. I find it ironic that those who blame cancel culture for Cornette's removal are now boycotting the NWA. I didn't like the comment. It didn't offend me. But, not for one second am I going to tell someone what is or is not offensive. That's not for me to decide. Like DKM referenced, I'm more bothered by the "Kayfabe Cocktail" commercial. I also agree that the show has a filtering process. Before it airs on YouTube several people had to have heard that comment and didn't think to change/edit the program. Ultimately it was a series of regrettable decisions. To my knowledge, Cornette resigned. Unless there was pressure from the NWA, it was Corny's decision. I don't think that dude has to do much to live comfortably. Based solely on the low-end estimates, he's making nearly $12K a month on YouTube alone. Which is almost double then the NWA's estimates. (These are estimates based on socialblade.com)

Meltzer reported that Lagana blames the editing mistake on fatigued. He shouldn't be doing these things by himself.

I’ll still support the NWA but I have to admit: this has reduced some of my own enthusiasm currently with Cornette leaving. He was the perfect tie to the NWA’s glorious past as far as I’m concerned. For me, he will be missed.

If Cornettes comments were so offensive that he had to be removed, how in the hell did WWE not only survive the attitude era in the mainstream on a major cable network with corporate sponsorship but thrive on being over the top "offensive" and at times outright disgusting? I guess if you throw enough money behind it that it makes alot of corporate money it is not "offensive".

Exactly. Undertaker hanging Big Bossman is fine, Terri Runnells having a miscarriage is fine, May Young having sex with Mark Henry and giving birth to a Hand is fine but Corny makes a joke about Ethiopians eating chicken and it’s the most offensive thing in wrestling

1998 and 2019 are different worlds. There wasn't social media in 1998.

Meltzer reported that Lagana blames the editing mistake on fatigued. He shouldn't be doing these things by himself. If Lagana wants "someone to blame," he can find that "someone" in any mirror. Such a freakin' cop out "fatigue"! Give me a break!
