Smart to leave or smart that the NWA only has one international member? I am sure the NWA will have other members over time. Smart to leave, I don't know if you or your company would have had the time/finance to do something like this but I've spoke a few times about how the NWA should be trying to build up the international areas with tours. A tour of England with Tharpe footing the bill for a few big names and you guys (Who like to use name wrestlers) bringing in your own guys and coming together for a kind of "NWA Supershow" would have been great especially since English wrestling is so hot right now. Instead it didn't seem that Tharpe was doing a lot for you guys. Maybe if he loses every single NWA international member he'll re-think his strategy in regards to all of this. Oh we have finance, finance isn't a problem here at fight! Nation. Like I've said our ideas didn't marry and our direction doesn't fit in with theirs. Good idea about the super show feel, keep your eyes peeled on what we are doing Appreciate the nice comments and support by the way. When I logged on it wasn't something I overly expected considering it's a NWA fan forum!!!!

To an extent we're NWA fans I guess. I consider myself a fan of the NWA. We've just got different groups here which is why people assume some are haters.
Group A featuring DKM, Shawn and Dody who are the "Everything is fine" group and will fight you to the death in regards to whether or not Bruce Tharpe is doing a good job. DKM once threatened me with a ban for saying Bruce Tharpe should build to title matches or something. This group reminds me of the hardcore TNA fans on that TNA Asylum website. No matter what comes out in the news about TNA those TNA Asylum guys will try and spin it in a positive way or defend it.
Group B which is the neutral group featuring Jay, NWA Fanatic and a few of the less regular members. These guys are probably more optimistic towards the brand without being delusional like Group A and pessimistic like Group C. Probably the group we should all aim to be in but I'm happy being in Group C
Group C is the most popular group. The full blown "Bruce Tharpe is an idiot and he needs out of the NWA". Originated by myself and some other dude back in the day but now lead by Fred Williams and Tony Brooklyn. Probably features your more pessimistic people although guys such as Fred and Tony definitely have reason to dislike the brand and the man behind it in general. Who would have ever thought myself and Mellos would be in the same group fighting the same fight?
This is the modern NWA fan base in a nutshell. If I were Bruce I don't think I'd be proud of it.

Yeah, my mistake.
*Fred RICHARDS. Point still stands on all of the above though, three different groups within the NWA fan base.

Yeah, my mistake. *Fred RICHARDS. Point still stands on all of the above though, three different groups within the NWA fan base. I am a fan of the brand's history, but not at all otherwise. I don't speak of it by name, because to label the management of this incarnation with those sacred letters is blaspheme. The alliance of Race, Flair, Steamboat, etc. is long gone. Those guys are still around. If the brand meant anything wouldn't they want to be involved? Today's incarnation is the equivalent of a 60 year old 5 foot tall white guy who can't jump or shoot a basketball claiming to be Michael Jordan. Don't jump to conclusions. That doesn't mean I don't have respect for individuals who run good promotions. Their affiliation with the alliance is by choice, not necessity. Their success would be there regardless of their affiliation. The brand brings nothing to them, but gets the rub from them. The same goes for the workers who perform there. The condition of the brand isn't their fault....and they bust their asses to put on good events. I have respect for them too.

Seems like Fight! Nation leaving the NWA was news worthy enough for Wrestling Observer to comment on

The Nwa system is outdated. No promotion will ever stay around because it makes no sense. At this point, they have no choice but to sign up smaller indies.
I think Bruce is making a mistake by not having promotions in every city in the top 10 media markets.
