Irrelevant. If it were a work the two would have been equal to sell tickets to a rematch down the line Have you ever watched Heels Champions getting their asses handed to them only to comeback and win the later match? Yes,by dumb bookers on TNA, good booking makes the heel look strong before the face finally overcomes the heel on PPV. It's all irrelevant anyway because no rematch was booked. Saying it's a work saves face, it was real.

Yeah,Kahagas gimmick is monster foreign heel. Flair and HTM gimmick was cowardly heel. Give me a monster heel who gets his ass kicked to set up a rematch.
Also, this thread reminds me of the old days where everyone piles me. Aren't the majority of you dudes forty? Let the hate go...someone is allowed to not like a talent

Let the hate go...someone is allowed to not like a talent There is a difference between not liking and badmouthing or not recognizing someone you don't care for is talented. I never liked Tully Blanchard, but I don't deny his talent and I was never impressed with Ric Flair until about 1986 maybe.

Your insults are unnecessary too especially when you wine about "everyone piles you"! You should have a thicker skin.

I rarely bring up Kahagas and haven't unless another poster brings him up.
You all need to get over it, lol, can't wait for the DW tribute thread because I didn't like him either

Kahagas and Damien Wayne were two of my favorites. I think the NWA dropped the ball and yes I blame Bruce, Chris, Fred, Dave, Bob, and everyone for not putting more shine on Wayne. Kahagas got a raw deal, but did the best he could with it.

Kahagas got a raw deal, but did the best he could with it. I agree 100% with this post. Totally agree. I've covered this before. To briefly repeat, we let things said on this board cloud our judgement. DW was supposed to win the title in NJ the night Kahagas won. Because it had pretty much been leaked that DW was going to win, we swerved it with Kahagas. In hindsight, it (what was said here) shouldn't have mattered. It is DUMB to let things said here influence your booking plans. It was a bad decision then...and would be a worse decision now. This is not a knock on Kahagas in any way....I'm happy with what he did in the limited period we gave him. Bottom line....no matter who was champion at that time, it would have been cut short. When NJPW agreed to start working with us...part of the deal was that the belt had to go to Conway. As I said on the old board, DW not getting that title was one of my biggest regrets. I did my best to push him to NJPW...and they liked the tag team gimmick he did with Erikson. DW and Erikson were going to go to Japan and win the tag titles....but passport issues (not DW) prevented it.

Contrary to what PJ thinks Kahagas was not a bad Champ. He was put in a bad situation and made the best of it. I also think things turned out well for DW. He is a traveling, defending World Champ now, and he seems to be doing to the AIWF World Title what Adam Pearce did to the NWA World, (make it mean more that what it meant before he became the Champion).

I believe DW is now doing domestically what Kahagas could have done if given the chance. DW is an outstanding champion. It's hard not to know what he's doing. He makes sure you know....the governing body of his brand makes sure you know, etc. He's definitely a lost opportunity for the alliance. The alliance title needs domestic relevance and exposure. Thats one thing it has been lacking since PWO surrendered the brand. Like the brand, the belt has had international exposure, but not nearly enough domestically. The way DW travels and defends his title is quite impressive.

I like DW more than Kahagas but my biggest concern with Wayne was that he doesn't look like a World Heavyweight Champion. He's pretty thin (When I brought this up I was called gay by him and everyone else despite having a girlfriend, lol), his promo work is lacking (There was an excuse for that from DW as well) and pretty much just looks like a normal dude you'd see in the street. An "every man" gimmick could work in the WWE where everyone is a monster but in a company like the NWA where everyone looks like a guy off the street you want your guy to stand out, DW didn't offer that and neither did Kahagas to be honest.
Also, DW's love of coming here and attacking people (Myself and anyone else who put down Bruce Tharpe) made him look very very amateurish. I remember him once threatening to beat me up on the old board for my opinion of his work, that's not a guy you want representing your brand. I'm glad he never won the big one in the NWA.

What is a World Heavyweight Champion "look" Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, and Daniel Bryan were undersized Champs. Also Dynamite Kid was a HUGE bully in the back and most of the guys were scared of him even though he was 5'8" How would you feel if we started saying you suck at your job in most dickish way. You would get pissed too.

Didn't say it in a dickish way at all. Pretty much what used to happen is everyone here would kiss DW's ass big time and I'd chime in with my opinion and say that whilst he was a strong in-ring performer (Which he is) I felt that his promos lacked as did his look.
Instead of taking my stuff on board or point blank ignoring it he'd go on the attack telling me to come to some rec hall in the United States and he'd show me what the business was all about and calling me gay simply for pointing out that his physique was lacking. That's not the kind of thing you want your fans seeing on a fan page from a potential World Champion.
