I hate to make my first post on the new board negative but not only did I not know that the NWA National Title was vacated (Maybe I did and it's completely slipped my mind?) but the NWA has done nothing to make me care about the new champion and there was absolutely no build to a new champion.
I like the idea of a tournament going around the Alliance. Doesn't even have to be a big tournament it could legitimately be 8 guys, maybe throw a "name" in there (Not WWE but an NWA name such as a Chance Prophet, Gunner etc etc) and maybe build something out of it. If you want to put the title on John Saxon maybe you have him win it by screwing Gunner out of it. Suddenly you have a hot story line over a title that isn't just your World Title.
The hot shot booking is one of the things that bothers me most about how Bruce Tharpe "books"

Jay posted it on his site when the title was vacated.
There were rumors that Prophet was going to given a short run but he chose to have surgery.
There is nothing new about this booking and it certainly isn't just Bruce that does it. Last time they did tournaments for both North America and National titles.

Maybe they did, we never hear about them though because Bruce (Who is the promoter of the entire NWA and needs to promote things) does not do it.
Just to drive my point home here are the last five official NWA Facebook page updates (Not including around the NWA):
1. NWA Classics. The Fabulous Ones Vs The Guerrero's
2. Advertisement for a Bobby Eaton and Road Warrior Animal appearance at a convention (NWA Central States will also be there but that was glossed over very quickly. NWA Central States is a promotion I've taken interest in and they need more help from the Alliance. Their numbers are down despite being in an NWA hot spot. Tharpe literally gives them a line and hypes the two stars who are simply signing autographs)
3. NWA Elite has a show. John Saxon is defending the NWA National Title. Why do I care? Bruce Tharpe (Or whoever updates the NWA Facebook) says it's a big show. Why? Why should I go? I don't know who John Saxon is so give me a reason to care.
4. NWA Classics. Art Crews Vs Ernie Ladd
5. NWA Classics. Hector Guerrero Vs Jose Lothario
---
After this it's just more "Around the NWA" stuff which is a good idea in theory but does nothing for these promotions. It needs to be a weekly 10 minute video things where a presenter can run us through what's been going on with video footage. Maybe you attract a NWA Smoky Mountain fan to NWA Central States based on a "Around the NWA" video.
Basically my point is nothing is ever hyped about the modern NWA and when something is put up it's only the big NWA promotions in Texas or SAW/Smoky Mountain. NWA Central States finally gets something "big" going on and the press release gives them a line.
Someone needs to tell Tharpe that the future of his "business" is the young guys and these promotions who are in the NWA. These companies will leave if they don't see value for money.

Yet after the event it posted a picture of Saxon with the title, posted an article on Saxon winning, and prior the event there is an article about the title being vacant, and a couple of shares of the Mid South Card, so nothing personal but you really don't pay attention and then gripe nothing was done.

And as I've told you before Bruce Tharpe's job is to make the person who isn't paying attention (Me) to care about his product. I'm sure John Saxon is an okay talent but if Tharpe isn't shoving this guy down my throat telling me how great he is and shoving his accomplishments down my throat why am I going to care?
A quick search of John Saxon shows he's been an NWA mainstay who competed in TNA during their time in the NWA. He's wrestled guys such as Johnny Swinger, Road Dogg and Simon Diamond on TV and holds victories over the likes of Cassidy Riley, Jinder Mahal and Rodney Mack. He's also a former number 1 contender for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship where he recently lost to Jax Dane and currently holds a regional heavyweight championship which makes him a double champion.
All interesting stuff but I had to go out of my way and to a non NWA affiliated website to find it. Bruce Tharpe is not good at marketing.
The official NWA article:
No reason to care, no reason for me to continue to keep an eye out for the guy. If I hadn't of looked around I'd have assumed he's nobody special from the article.

All fair points. But you should remember the old ownership group was guilty of this too. This board and website was invented for that very reason. I wanted to learn more about Damien Wayne, Chance Prophet #Hi, Fergal Devit, Dru Onyx, etc. were. If you're finding information, please by all means share it. But you can't vilify the NWA for not posting everything that's relevant to your interests. In a perfect world this board doesn't exist, because the NWA would already be on top of it, rending this place useless. Lucky for me it isn't.

I wanted to learn more about Damien Wayne, Chance Prophet #Hi, Fergal Devit, Dru Onyx, etc. were. I think this a key here, a fan has to take some responsibility as well. Polejump seems to want Bruce to personally spoon feed him everything. John Saxon has been talked about multiple times on the former board for this site and been covered on the NWA website before and his history has been given before. First, Polejump doesn't pay attention and wrongly claims there was nothing done to promote the event or the title or the new champion, then he complains because he should of been given more information to make him care, even though the information has been given before and he still didn't care. Maybe I'm a rose colored wearing, overly positive fan-boy. I'll take that any day over being a bitter, bitching, dead horse beating, the sky is falling doomsayer.

It's not that this is just a slip up or anything like that. Tharpe never really promotes ANYTHING except NJPW, NWA Classics or the big promotions within the NWA.
Of course it's all out there but how do I learn these people even exist? This board does it's best but a lot of guys just fly under the radar and then suddenly become BOD Champions and we're expected to just know them.

Let's define promoting. What do you mean by "promotes ANYTHING except NJPW, NWA Classics or the big promotions within the NWA."
Here are the last ten posts on the NWA Facebook Page. As of 7AM PST Jan 27th 1) Article about NWA Atlanta (http://nwaringside.com/around-the-nwa-featuring-nwa-atlanta/) 2) NWA Smoky Mountain DVD on sale (http://buff.ly/1nfFk6W) 3) upcoming NWA Smoky Mtn Card on Feb 13 (http://buff.ly/1nfFn2n) 4) NWA Smoky Mountain DVD on sale (http://buff.ly/1WDP0Vc) A different one... 5) NWA Smoky Mountain World Title Match (http://nwaringside.com/farley-takes-on-dane-at-encore/) also Feb 13th 6) Promo Video for NWA Vendetta Pro (https://youtu.be/t77P7X07gc0) 7) NWA Classics link to Jose Lothario vs. Krusher Kruschev (http://nwaclassics.com/jose-lothario-vs-krusher-kruschev/) 8) Shared an article from F4WOnline about the passing of the Mongolian Stomper (http://www.f4wonline.com/news/archie-mongolian-stomper-gouldie-dead-71-206146)
9) Another Ringside Column about Hot Streaks within the NWA (http://nwaringside.com/around-the-nwa-featuring-hot-streaks-2/) 10) Lastly another NWA Classics Link (http://nwaclassics.com/mexican-death-match-the-fabulous-ones-vs-the-guerreros/)
If you go three posts more, there is a a link to Lebanon MEGA Con which is set to feature Animal and Bobby Eaton, NWARingside Article about NRW Colorado, and another article about NWA Southeastern Wrestling

Bruce's last few shares on facebook are; the Harley Race Theme Song via YouTube, a Video endorsement of MPWA (the NRW School), a Photo of Raymond Rowe and Jax Dane addressing Tobias Elementary School about Anti Bullying and Anti Drug assembly in Texas. A goofy photo for Jax. More photos for the school assembly, photos from the NRW/Mercury Pro Wrestling Academy seminar, and a match between Rob Conway and Kojima from Wrestle Kingdom 8.
So his last few posts have been centered around what he's doing. But as an aside, I don't use my personal facebook page to post about everything I write about. That's why I have social media pages for Alliance-Wrestling and SoCalUNCENSORED on facebook. And twitters to match.
But regardless if we're talking about the NWA... Bruce is "promoting the NWA" both big and small.

I'm talking about NWA Official facebook. Around the NWA is great but it isn't a great hook and needs to be video.

Jay was talking about the NWA Facebook and what they had posted, shared.
You have stated your opinion multiple times, instead or griping and bitching about the same old things, including things you know nothing about, either use you stills to help out and contribute or shut up.

If the alliance were legitimate and relevant in any way, at the very least, it would make use of it's website to promote the brand, it's promotions and wrestlers. A website can certainly provide the appearance that you are a bigger deal than you are, get people interested, etc. We made progress with the team I put together...but we didn't have enough time to build it properly. It doesn't happen over night. Since then....there is no evidence of an organized or focused effort to establish any kind of media presence that pushes the brand, promotions or wrestlers. It's just a matter of waiting I guess....for someone to fork over 6-8 million dollars for the brand. Let us pray.

If Tharpe wants to toss some money at someone every week he could do an Around The NWA Podcast or Video. I (Or most others) won't use their skills for free (Nor should they have to)
