I actually was asked by Jay to write about the whole experience about 6 months ago. I wrote about half of my story and went really in depth but had computer issues and lost it all along with heaps of other stuff that wasn't backed up and just lost motivation to rewrite it all. I do have some time coming up over the next couple weeks and did a bit of a write up recently for the local newspaper so I might get around to at least starting it up again and completing it.
I would like to have something "out there" to remind me of the first year. I already have forgotten so many small moments that this thread reminded me of.

We hosted the anniversary card three nights ago and it was a pretty big success. We managed to draw just shy of 150 people to our regular venue which is a pretty big increase over our past highest attendance (50 or so)
Orlando Jordan is a very cool and relaxed guy and increased our business. We used the "name" correctly getting 2 newspaper appearances out of it plus 3 minutes on the radio. Orlando did ask to go over on our local which I didn't really want but we did it in a way where the local guy still looks strong (Orlando won via roll up). Lots of positive feedback and Orlando was very fair on his autograph and photo pricing charging just $5.00 for a combo of both autograph and photo.
The rival promotion ran across the street but funnily enough their fans turned up to our show, paid admission and sat in the building with the other promotions shirts on. They picked my show over their show which is pretty funny...
Pretty much every match delivered. We had a promoter on hand as a guest who said the show was booked really well and my veterans all said that structure and booking was spot on which is nice.
I'll upload some clips on here for you all soon.

Just thought I would give a now annual update on everything that has been going on. I know WWLTD has been following us and giving support over on YouTube which I thank him for but thought the rest of you may enjoy an update.
- After the April show I took a small break and didn't run again until July. We ran one of our smaller venues in front of maybe 60 people which was the nail in the coffin for that building. It was a large community hall but the lack of alcohol and food on offer seemed to keep the fans out. We did have two somewhat successful shows there in 2018 but after a poor draw in December, January and July at the venue it was time to kill it off and be done with it. Our primary venue then became a club which offers drinks, food and an air conditioned auditorium which I'd ran our bigger shows in. One of the positives of this venue is we debuted a former Miss USA beauty pageant contestant who has been a massive hit with our audience. She is still learning as a wrestler but her look and personality is phenomenal and once she becomes stronger in ring she could potentially be a huge star domestically.
- We ran three weeks after in August at the club and did well crowd wise which further confirmed that. We did an 8 man tournament bringing back what was once Australia's most prestigious wrestling tournament. One of our local guys got to win it and it was a tournament that I closely followed as a kid so to get involved and officially host the thirteenth annual edition of it was cool for me. Said tournament has been hosted in almost every Australian state and the newspaper/local media really treated it as a big deal which helped.
- After this card we headed to a little village fun fair in the central part of the state (Mainly farming areas and regional towns) for our second paid spot show. I took a crew of four wrestlers, cameraman, referee, ring announcer (Myself) and a merchandise girl (My girlfriend) to this little town that had never seen wrestling. It was boiling hot, we all got sunburned and barely any of these people knew what wrestling was so the crowd was hard to win over. Regardless, due to the sheer curiosity pretty much the entire fair paid attention to us. Was another cool thing to tick off the bucket list.
- We held a show in October that I was really unhappy with. A few of our regular fan groups were gone (One due to having a child, another due to a wedding) and it just wasn't good in ring wise. I heavily assessed this show to make sure we finished 2019 with the bang that it deserved.
- And boy did we manage to deliver. November 23rd we hosted our end of year spectacular with very special guest Minoru Tanaka from Pro Wrestling NOAH. He came in and wrestled our current champion who also wrestled in NOAH a couple of years ago. The midcard was gutted as we brought in experienced midcard acts rather than filling the midcard with green talent. Every match was at least solid and the crowd was hot all night plus Tanaka brought a crowd increase and much needed media attention.
- If you're unfamiliar with who Minoru Tanaka is he currently wrestles for Pro Wrestling NOAH and is the second man (Naomichi Marufuji being the first) to win the Japanese Junior Triple Crown (AJPW, GHC and IWGP Junior Titles). He was also voted the number 1 technical wrestler in 2001 by Pro Wrestling Illustrated and what a joy he was to have with us. He hosted a seminar for 10 of our wrestlers teaching them Japanese style of wrestling and despite us being smaller than what he would probably be used to (NOAH draws about 250-300 for their small shows and thousands for their big ones. We had maybe 110-120) he worked hard, was respectful and legitimately won the hearts of every fan, staff member and wrestler despite his limited English. Tanaka-San is a legend and we are the first company in Australia to ever bring an active Pro Wrestling NOAH talent to the country which is brilliant for me especially with how much I respect the brand.
On Tanaka's trip from the airport to our venue the guy I had driving him mentioned Jushin Liger coming to Australia. Tanaka informed my guy that both he and Liger had a long chat about their respective Australian dates. If you had told me two years ago when I started this thread that one of the most accomplished junior heavyweights in Japan and one of the most recognisable junior heavyweights in the world would be talking about my small local wrestling promotion my jaw would've dropped. I don't "mark out" for much but how cool is that?
2020 now approaches and All-Star (My promotion) is beginning to gain momentum. In January we are going to Sydney for the very first time to try and increase our crowds from 100 or so to hopefully double and we've already sold a few tickets for that. Orlando Jordan will participate on that show also as will a bunch of really talented locals who are now willing to jump on board because I have a good reputation now. In February we've got a spot show being talked about and I will likely run another Sydney event, March will see us return to the town we draw 100 odd in hoping that them missing us kicks in and we do better and then April we run our anniversary card again.
Also, I should probably mention that last month we came to an agreement with a company up north to launch an official working agreement which means my promotion and their promotion become the only two companies in our state to gain exposure in all three major cities in the state. Our wrestlers are now becoming stars regionally but also getting recognition interstate as smaller promoters are flying them in and bringing them in based off what they see from my social media and the stories I'm telling online. Quite a few promoters knock my ideas off and use them for themselves which shows me I'm doing the right thing.
We have a full show up for you guys to look at. It's the tournament show from August. I'll leave the link below:

Hello all,
Jay got in touch with me yesterday on my page so I thought I'd come back and give a little update a year and a half after the last one. I miss you guys!
In January we went to Sydney and we've been there pretty much ever since, I haven't lost money on a show since then and I generally draw 150+ now although we had one hiccup where we did around 110 which was pretty disappointing but 150 is pretty much the expectation now. I think crowd wise we're in the top 5 for New South Wales now which is something I never would have expected.
My last show which was our biggest of the year drew just under 300 people (Was 289) and had legitimate celebrities in the crowd which was absolutely insane. The second highest point scorer ever in our national rugby competition turned up to the event, we got state wide radio coverage from another well known TV personality who is also on the radio, NJPW contracted talent was on the show and I've created perhaps the most over wrestler in all of New South Wales who is now my champion. It's been a blast but we're now in stage four COVID lockdown which halts our momentum once again.
Thank you guys for always supporting me, AllianceWrestling forum is my home and where I got my education in wrestling, much love <3

Looks good.
I have a question for you, have you figured out why I say fans should take extra money for the shows?
