I'm personally OVER bitching and moaning about R. Bruce Tharpe. Yes he is a piss poor man's Puff Daddy "who is in all the videos and in all the records" but he owns the NWA so he can do watch ever he wants. I stopped supporting the NWA the day after Adam Pearce stepped down as the NWA World Champion.
I think Tony Givens should be granted Catholic Sainthood for supporting this sinking ship of one man's ego. I mainly post here because I am Jay's friend and I like posting here. Other than that I doubt I will support the NWA until Tharpe sells the NWA to someone who take care of it better or until he gets a brain transplant and decides to stop using the NWA as a vehicle to feed his ego.

As for Bruce. I remember the supershow featuring Chris Masters Vs Rob Conway NWA World Heavyweight Title match and reading a recap in which Bruce appeared on the show 6 times. Getting in verbal altercations with Lance Hoyt (Which went nowhere), taking the glory away from Conway who had just had retained the title and generally was all over the show. Then the TV show came out and he appeared a further 3-4 times in the hour telecast. I've said it before but it would have made more sense to have Tony do the talking on the program (Which he did but not as much as Tharpe if I'm remembering correctly) since Tony actually hosted the event and was running a territory in the same area just like Boesch had been doing. I'd like to add a little background on that "show". It was a HOUSTON event....not an ALLIANCE event. My promotion, my team, etc. It was early in our "relationship". Of course I was doing everything I could get help get him over....because he really didn't know anyone. His booking suggestions were terrible, as usual, so me and my bookers had to take that over...and rightfully so since it was my event. Actually, Diet Productions and Houston put on the event 50/50 financially....but the lead on booking fell with me and the Houston team. It was decided that he should give the pre-match instructions, in an effort to help get him over with the boys. So...my bookers would tell him what to say...and then he would sit down with them and the boys about to wrestle....and go through their match. Bruce Prichard was in attendance. While my former "partner" spent his time playing booker or hamming it up in the ring, I sat in the corners of the room, much of the time with Prichard. I was busy putting over our boys with Prichard as he was still with TNA at the time. My former partner was too busy trying to get himself over to worry about the boys. I remember especially talking to Prichard about Carson....who everyone knows was one of "my guys". I feel about him as Tony Givens feels about Chase. It seems that my former "partner" and Prichard had an ego based rivalry. Much of the night my former "partner" was busy trying to look important in front of Prichard. If I'm not mistaken, in previous conversations, Prichard had said the alliance was dead, etc....and my former "partner" took that to heart...and was doing everything he could to play big shot President. The "show" was indeed scheduled to be a tribute to Paul Boesch. It would be unfair to say my former "partner" didn't bring anything to the table, as he is Mrs. Boesch's lawyer and he did get her involved. Prior to knowing my former "partner", I had tried to do a Paul Boesch tribute. I had contacted Mrs. Boesch and asked permission and if she would attend. She said yes...but then later called back and said no because her lawyer suggested that she not participate. Little did I know at that time, that it was the same person I would eventually end up owning the alliance with. Part of the event was me being presented with Paul Boesch's blue jacked that he wore on TV. Mrs. Boesch presented it and gave her blessing to me promoting the territory.....concluding with the comment "Paul would be proud". I didn't write it this way, because I always did as much as I could to remove myself from the event....the people are there to see the wrestlers...not a middle aged guy in a suit...but I won't lie...it was a satisfying moment. But again, people don't come to see the guy in the suit....we had a wrestling event that people paid to see....and I knew that. My former "partner" doesn't get that. Keeping him out of the ring and off the microphone is next to impossible. Even at an event that wasn't his...

That show was the first time I ever met James Beard, and I can not say enough good things about him. I spent most of the day with the new title belt in my possession, so I was as happy as they come. Hi, Boss!!

"Hate" implies emotion. Surely the person-in-mention does not merit the expenditure of honest emotion.
Yet if any emotion is to be, in fact, spent on this miscreant, let it be a morsel of pity.
Pity because this person has to get out of bed each morning and see himself in a mirror.
Pity because this person manifests the judgement of an amoeba.
Pity because this person has no qualms of conscience soothsaying and swindling others.
Pity because the sands of the hourglass remain few and are rapidly running out.
Pity because this person is such an egomaniac, so blinded by what he possibly sniffs, snorts, swallows and smokes that he is fast-sliding into the gutter.
Pity because the grasp of the American justice system will soon reach towards him.
Pity because this bozo will add to his absurdity by dusting off his K-Mart sequined garment and head to the annual industry love-fest in Vegas to be ridiculed, laughed at and dismissed as the fake, phony, fraud loser he chose to be.
Pity because his reputation on continents around the world is one that no mother's son could possibility take pride in.
Pity because his objectively manifested hypocrisy of feigned religious adherence has guaranteed his place in Hades.
But this pity cannot translate to mercy. Such an atrocity would prompt pity for the translator.
For we are all accountable.
Even him.

The massive announcement being promised and then taken away is amateur hour. I laughed so hard on the train the other day when DKM said there was no announcement and that a mistake had been made. Laughed so hard that people gave me strange looks.

Mistakes happens, for example Lucha Underground had to turn away a 100 fans because they made a mistake with the tickets at Ultima Lucha 2. Shit happens and people should know by now, big announcements on social media sites are not really big announcements. If it doesn't happen at a press conference or at least have a video with it, its just usually BS.

I honestly don't like Dixie and feel she takes too much TV time but Tharpe is worse. Dixie doesn't think she's a wrestling manager and she doesn't jump from champion to champion to get as much press as possible. In Tharpe's run as apart of the NWA he's been an Authority Figure, Manager, Television Presenter (NWA Pilot) and on a lot of the smaller NWA territories he's treated like a huge star. He pops up in all the NWA videos and to Dixie's credit she's never tried to do any of those except the Authority Figure role. Ahhh so we're meant to accept it because Lucha Underground made a ticketing mistake! I understand. Also, what press cares about the NWA in 2016? This website, that's it.

If it doesn't happen at a press conference or at least have a video with it, its just usually BS. I agree. Remember that big and all important press conference from CAC 2014 in Las Vegas when El Presidente announced the best of 7 series between Nitro and Marconi for the National Title? They were sitting at a table in TGI Fridays at the Gold Coast Casino and there were light shades above everyone's head that looked like dunce caps. That was important and forever changed the alliance. All video and pictures mysteriously disappeared. Must be a simple glitch on the website right? All I could find is this flyer.

With out insulting the talent (no insult intended at all) would these two offer us a grand scale of a great best of 7 feud? And besides the National Championship what was the point of the Best of 7?

I thought injuries ended that one? I always thought it was a stupid idea even when Pearce/Cabana did it. I feel like the title should only change hands if the challenger wins 4 matches but with the Nwa format the title can change with each match.

Cabana/Pearce doing a best of seven was a bad idea? It got a lot of interest online and they released a DVD about it so it couldn't have been that stupid of an idea.

Cabana title reign lasted about 2-3 months and you know the only person that can defeat him is Pearce. It devalued everything. Bad gimmick, titles should not be on the line.

Just to clarify, I think the WORLD of Lou Marconi and Phil "Nitro" Monahan. Two incredible people...two people I can legitimately call friend.
Shawn suggested that a press conference made things legit. It's unfortunate that it's a situation where Lou and Phil were involved, but my post was simply to point out that when El President holds a "press conference"....it doesn't mean much more than when they post "major announcement coming".
