I would have the tournament to be 16 team tournament instead of 8.

I've heard others say that, but now you have a 15 match card that is just tournament matches plus to have to find and pay for another 16 wrestlers. Add to that who is realistic? The bigger the "name" the bigger the cost.

They were already there for the meet and greet. Is it really a bigger boost to have them in the tournament? Better or worse that they are booked vs Briscoes? Can it add to the legacy of the modern legends to soundly eliminate THE tag team legends? The Briscoes have to be odds on favor to win the tournament (defeating Dane / Crimson in finals?).

I'm cool with this being an 8 team tournament especially with the teams involved. Corino, if tags championships are handed to the winner of this, I think Dane/Crimson will walk out with the Crockett Cup and as champions. Dane and Crimson been NWA guys for a while so I think it's best putting those 2 over in creating your new tag team division. I could certainly be wrong in my opinion.

I think you are spot on with the eventual winners (but hey - you never know for sure). I have been stating since the brackets were posted (so soon after the recent ROH pay-per-view) that I feel Big Cass & Enzo May be the surprise entrant in the tournament by winning the wild card spot. If they, in turn, are eliminated by Crimson & Dane, they could come out and blatantly interfere in the finals costing the Briscoes the win everyone would expect of them. That booking would protect the Briscoes from losing to a less recognized team but still allow the NWA loyalists (Crimson & Dane) to walk out with the cup and probably the titles. It also furthers the feud with the Briscoes and possibly gives the new NWA tag champs a known team to feud with as well.

I actually find this card to be somewhat interesting in that there is nothing that turns me off but nothing that really excites me either.
Did I miss something, why is there so much speculation that the winners may be crowned tag champions? Maybe it's just wishful thinking.
I do have an interest in Jazz vs Sienna.

From an NWA standpoint if they were going to be part of the card I believe you would advertise them in advance. They are two guys who could actually attract some additional attention to an event at this level and you are going to spend a lot to bring them in. Using them as a surprise is going to leave Buys on the table.

I too am wondering that. How come people think that the World Tag Team Championship is going to be handed out?
The only reason I think it should be 16 is because I think that this would showcase teams all over the world not just CMLL and NJPW. I mean they only got 2 teams from those promotions. This should have been the chance for the NWA to have for themselves a showcase event . I like the agreement with ROH but they should have use teams from PWI,(Pro Wrestling International), AIWF, UWN, MLW, Innovate Wrestling,OVW and the Independents not just in America but all over the world. Teams that people on PPV or Internet PPV don't get to see. Corgan and Crew should let Dave Marquez or Jeff Jarrett be President they have the business savvy. I really don't know if AIWF or PWI still operates as a whole but I know they have good talent in those organizations.

I agree, if tag titles were or are at stake Dane/Crimson take them but I also don't see NWA missing an opportunity to have another event to hype to crown champions. We will see.

I could see an "injury" to lets say the R & R and Cass/Enzo replace them, would tie in with their involvement at G1

I'd rather see the RnR Express. Besides they still have the Battle Royal as an option.

Interesting Fact:
Stuka Jr is the current NWA World Historic Light Heavyweight Champion, a title that is a lineal descendant of the once NWA Board controlled NWA World Light Heavyweight title.

As I’ve stated on other posts, if I’ve added to the misinformation about the NWA handing out a Tag championship at the conclusion of the Crockett Cup, I apologize. I did read that somewhere not long after the event was initially announced (way prior to the event details) and I assumed the information was accurate.
On a different note about the Cup, has anyone seen any pictures or heard any information about the actual prize from the Tournament? By that, I’m asking if anyone knows if the winners will hold the traditional Cup used back during the Crockett promotion of the event or if Bill & Co have something brand new to hand the winners?

Most pictures show a trophy. I suppose it depends on whatever happened to the original. They are working with the Crockett Foundation on this.
